Plans to continue motorcycle and marine sales
After years of struggling in the U.S. market and trying to regain respect for its line up after a successful debut in the 1980s, the U.S. distributor of the Japanese owned Suzuki Motor Company has filed for Chapter 11 and announced that while it intends to cease sales of cars in the market, will continue to pursue the marine and motorcycle markets.
Based in Brea, California, American Suzuki began selling cars in the U.S. in 1985. All warranties will be honored, and parts and service will be provided through its network of dealers. Sales in Europe and India, where the company remains successful, will continue.
