Getting firsthand information from an actual car owner is one sure way to get an idea of car performance once it leaves the lot. Autobytel features real consumer reviews that give the unbiased experience of a car.
This car has been perfect for my needs. I am able to cram beach gear, camping equipment or even frequent loads from home depot in the large hatch back. The color was cool in 2003, but I am tired of the two tone green paint 8 years later. My super-ru will climb up any hill, trudge through any un-plowed snow covered road, & crawl through mud along side any lifted monster truck. We may make it through tough road conditions, but we are the turtle, not the hare in the race.
'03 subaru outback review
Pros: 6 disc cd player
Cons: fuel consumption could be better
Well made, comfortable and safe car with a minimum of problems over the yearsPros: AWD of course.
Cons: It could use a bit more power.
Advice: Always test drive and spring for the turbo version if you can.
Very comfortable to drive and I feel confident in all conditions. This is my third Subaru and second Outback. I'm a bassist in a band and this wagon always gets me to the gig no matter what I bring. Great great car! I love my Subaru!Pros: AWD
Cons: Passenger seat is not automatic, unlike driver seat.
Advice: Go for what you want or need, then look at the price.
The AWD system grips the road and is a noticeabe difference. Subaru Outback line has all the luxury (L.L. Bean and VDC models) of a BMW, the off road capabilities of a SUV, and the comfort and feel of a sedan. With a nice price.Pros: Everthing
Cons: No GSP!
Advice: Buy It !!! This car is Great!!!!
This Car has it all except no gsp.Other than that, it is one fine wagon.Pros: Rearview mirror
Cons: not enough ground clearance
Advice: Buy from a reputable dealer.
Excellent handling. Crash results are reassuring. Knowing it's a Subaru makes the price a bit more bearable.Pros: All Wheel Drive
Cons: Emergency brake recall.
Advice: Test drive one in the snow. You'll be hooked.
The H6-3.0 engine is responsive and the vehicle handles extremely well in the snow. My other car is a 3 year old Mercedes E320 and I find myself gravitating to the Subaru. The seats are heated, comfortable, excellent lumbar support and certainly as good as my Benz. The upgraded indash CD system is very good. (Not as good as the Benz, but still very good,) The finish of the Subaru is outstanding. It is a well built and solid vehicle. It rides exceptionally well for a sports wagen.
