Pros: PERFORMANCE
Cons: BACK SEAT ROOM
Advice: BUY IT WITH THE SHORT THROW SHIFTER.
THIS CAR IS A GREAT VALUE. THE ALL WHEEL DRIVE IS FANTASTIC IN THE SNOW. THE PERFORMANCE IS NICE TO HAVE IF YOU NEED IT. TALK ABOUT ACCELERATION!Pros: power and front seats
Cons: stereo only 80 watts
Advice: get it
absolute worth it.great performance.i like the goofy look.most people don't expect the quickness of the 'little subaru',so that makes it even more fun.i had a mitsubishi eclipse gs before .forget about it.run to get one.Pros: Terrific handling instills confidence
Cons: Elbow hits center armrest when pulling back shifter
Advice: Shop around for insurance, then buy one. Great fun in all kinds of driving!
I test drove 4 other vehicles that I was interested in. Then I drove the WRX. The salesman rode with me, and I used all my willpower to maintain my disinterested attitude...I wanted that car! After some haggling over price(I later told the salesman I would have paid $500 over sticker price)I bought it. It was tough to keep the RPM under 4000 during the 1000 mi. break-in but I did. And now I've discovered what a hoot this car is to drive! I've owned 60's&70's muscle cars(400 to 520 HP)and they were fun to drive, but they were not as quick and didn't handle anything close to my WRX!!! It feels glued to the road while cornering at speed, and the racing style seats, along with the left foot-rest/brace, make one feel part of the car. I believe my WRX wagon is a true sports car with cargo space! Now a down side. These cars are designed to be very safe for the occupants, so airbags, crumple zones(front&rear),added bracing etc. make them expensive to repair in case of an accident. So insurance premiums are high(Group 17).Pros: Acceleration and road adhesion.
Cons: As expected from a performance vehicle poor gas mileage.
Advice: Get the WRX but be aware that the Mitsubishi EVO 7 is coming up.
The moment we drove of the lot and stabbed the accel pedal with the a/c on, I knew this is the car for me. I used to ride a sportbike and now it is collecting dust in the garage. The only thing I miss from riding is the openess and splitting lanes in heavy traffic. I was only planning to test drive and ended up taking it home.Pros: POWER / AWD
Cons: No leather seats / low gas millage
Advice: Great car that is fun to drive
I have had a 1991 Celica GT and a 1995 Acura Integra GSR and loved'em both. I just purchased a 2002 WRX and so far so good. + s, lots of power, fairly quite ride (compared to my GSR, very quite) steering is very different but that is due to the AWD. I like the car so far. Althought, I miss the great Honda stick. It's like butter...lol. -'s not the 'chick magnet' I thought...guys seem to flock to it (heads up ladies). Anyway, I would recommend the WRX. I kinda of wish that I had got the wagon, it has a lot of room/versitly(sp).Pros: The AWD and Power
Cons: no fold down rear seats on the sedan model
Advice: buy it, its worth every penny
I recommend a test drive, i love this car... it has great acceleration and great handling. overall i recommend this car over any other in its class.Pros: THE KEY
Cons: NO SUNROOF. ONCE YOU HAVE HAD ONE YOU NEED ONE.
Advice: DO NOT HESITATE! BUY IT AND FORGET ABOUT ANY REMORSE. GOOD CHOICE
This car is vastly different than my previous car (2000 civic ex with 200hp). Unfortunately it was stolen. The 'I' is special. it accelorates, makes curves and is generally alien to me. I wake up each day and look forward to driving my unnamed car. So far the turbo is a mystery to me. The 'brake-in period' is performed not very strictly. I bought the 'I' because it is fast and can handle abuse. That is how I drive. With regard to the positives, it is fast, handles well at all speeds, braking gives me confidence, even at very high speeds. The interior fits as a glove ( no not O.J.'s). Everything is right there at the reach or touch. As for shortcomings, below 3000 rpms, Fred Flinstone rips me off the line. I have plans for the future, but for now STOCK is paramount. I'm used to a GS-R motor and I could wind that motor forever. Not with the 'I'. (more future plans). 18's would improve handling. (future). All in All I truly love this car. When I learn to drive it properly that joy will be magnified greatly. I need good advice on how the improve a car which is almost perfect to begin with. Respect the car and other drivers and the rewards will surely follow. MORE INFO TO FOLLOW WITH ' MILES TO GO BEFORE I SLEEP'. .
