Pros: The Motor
Cons: The Design
Advice: Look For the comfort
This car is good in every condition. This car has Four Wheel drive. This car has 240 horsepower.Pros: traction, snow
Cons: unreliable, costly repetitive repairs on wheel bearing and head gasket
Advice: dont buy subaru, buy toyota or something reliable, by friend the mechanic loves subaru, gues why?
I an surprised how poorly the quality control is for subaru. at 15k it needed a new clutch, at 20k it needed a new head gasket, at 10k it needed a new rear wheel bearing, the same replaced bearing needed replacement at 50k, also at 50k it needed new rear knuckles at a price of 600$. now at 55k both rear struts are totally shot, to make matters worse, these are all widley known problems with subaru impreza for years, yet the company doesnt care. been to the dealer many times, never given a loaner car, had to pay for a cab for weeks.Pros: Performance, gas mileage (27mpg highway), AWD
Cons: no standard turbo guage
Advice: I would skip on the carbon fiber trim and get the Turbo boost guage and upgraded stereo
The first time I drove the WRX I was hooked. I remember taking the car out (without the dealer :-), finding the closest backroad, pulling up to an empty 4-way intersection, revving the engine to 5000 rpm's and dropping the clutch while in first gear. The car was explosive! It took off the line like a rocket! All 4 tires squeeking for a split second and then I was gone! I bought it the very next day and have been happy ever since (80k miles later).Pros: Power and lots of it.. and handling is awesome .. saved my bacon more than once
Cons: uh... the ABS can't do it as well as I can
Advice: Hold on... tight.... grit teeth... smile and laugh hysterically.... OK, now start it up
This is the best all around car I've ever owned (over 30 cars). I feel safe in it because I know the car can do anything I ask of it. Only the Cooper S (1963) could corner better and only the 69 Road Runner was quicker to speed. My wife also loves this car dearly and is not afraid to push it hard. It's wonderful on snow and ice, with fresh rubber, anyway. The ABS is a bit odd, but you do get used to it. All of the complaints I've ever heard about turbo lag and so forth, do not exist with this car. I even like the stereo. The seats are terrific and you can go all day without destroying your lower back. It's got 65,000 miles on it and I have only had a very few minor problems... a window popped off the track and it had a radiator hose go south. Other than that....zip. At this mileage it still blows away the usual Audi's and BMW's. Ho hum...Pros: Powerful engine, AWD, foglights
Cons: squeeky windows... hot engine...
Advice: change those stock tires for better handling
Very powerful, turbo kicks in at about 3000rpm, thats where all the fun begins. very very smooth ride, excellent handling...Pros: 6 cd changer
Cons: gas mileage
Advice: consider gas mileage, premium gas
There is a bit of turbo lag, once past 20 zooms to 80 in no time. From foot to pedal time, it's about 3 seconds until you feel turbo boost. Good handling, semi bad vision from rear spoilerPros: PERFORMANCE
Cons: BACK SEAT ROOM
Advice: BUY IT WITH THE SHORT THROW SHIFTER.
THIS CAR IS A GREAT VALUE. THE ALL WHEEL DRIVE IS FANTASTIC IN THE SNOW. THE PERFORMANCE IS NICE TO HAVE IF YOU NEED IT. TALK ABOUT ACCELERATION!
