Subaru has just announced pricing for two new Special Edition cars, the WRX and WRX STI. These Special Edition cars feature a custom Tangerine Orange Pearl paint job with black accents, like the jet black custom wheels. Front fender badging and exterior mirrors are also black. As a bonus, both cars come with the Subaru fog light kit as standard. To finish out the new look, black exterior graphics designating model run across the bottom of the doors The interior features orange accent stitching on the seats, doors and shift boot. Custom orange trimmed floor mats are also included. The Special Edition WRX gets the dark interior trim and black headliner from the WRX STI to provide a truly custom look.
Subaru has limited the production run to just 300 cars, 200 WRX models and 100 WRX STI models. Subaru has also restricted the Special Edition package to sedans only; sorry five-door fans. The price take home a WRX Special Edition Sedan is $28,795. That represents a $500 premium over the standard WRX Premium sedan. The WRX STI Special Sedan carries a higher $34,795 price tag, also a $500 increase over the bas WRX STI sedan. These two Japanese pumpkins will be available this spring.
The 2013 Subaru WRX is a compact sports car powered by a turbocharged 2.5-liter Subaru Boxer® engine producing 265 horsepower and 244 lb/ft of torque. All WRX models feature Subaru’s Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive as standard. The 2013 Subaru WRX STI is powered by a similar 2.5-liter Boxer engine, but power has been increased to 305 horsepower. A six-speed transmission and an exclusive Multi-Mode Driver Controlled Center Differential (DCCD) version of the AWD system help get that power down to all four wheels. The Subaru WRX STI also comes standard with a Multi-Mode Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC) system, with a track performance-optimized setting, and Subaru Intelligent Drive (SI-DRIVE).
