New Model Scheduled for November Debut
After last year’s model honored the great white north with a special Arctic Edition, the 2014 Jeep Wrangler will celebrate the southern-most continent with a Polar variant of its own. Due in November, the 2014 Jeep Wrangler Polar Edition bears an exclusive badge marking the latitude and longitude of the Vostok research station in Antarctica, site of the lowest temperature ever recorded on the planet Earth.
But while conditions at -128.56° F may be challenging even for the latest limited-edition Wrangler, it should be able to handle just about anything U.S. owners will throw at it—and do so with some cool new style enhancements. That’s because the 2014 Jeep Wrangler Polar Edition will start with the Sahara model, in two- or four-door configurations, then upgrade with:
The cabin gets a winter-friendly makeover as well, thanks to touches like the Pearl White accent stitching on the vehicle’s black-leather seats, leather-wrapped steering wheel, door armrests, and center-console lid, there’s also an eye-catching Ceramic White finish for the dashboard grab bar and vent rings to “create the contrasting effect of the light on Antarctic glaciers.”
In terms of hardware, the 2014 Jeep Wrangler Polar Edition comes ready to rock(-crawl) and boasting:
