Seventh Annual Mazda Motorsports Open House

For the past seven years, Mazda opens up their design and R&D center in Irvine, CA for Mazdaspeed's annual Motorsport Day. Besides talking about what the future holds for Mazda in motorsport, the company rolls out some of their race cars from the past and present. We had the great fortune of having Mazda North America's Director of Design Derek Jenkins give us a walk around of some of the vehicles shown at the open house including a 1979 Mazda RX-7, a Mazda 787B that competed at the 24 Hours of LeMans, the Mazda2 B-Spec race car, and the 2014 Mazda6 SKYACTIV Diesel Grand-Am race car which took home its first win at Road Atlanta last month.
