Practical bike hauler
Pros: interior room with the seats folded down
Cons: The seatsI bought the car 15 months ago. It's very practical. With the back seats folded down, I can stuff my road bike in without removing the front wheel, or I can stuff two bikes in if I remove the front wheels and seats. However, after 15 months, I'm still not used to the driver's seat. It's ok if I place a cushion behind my back.
Excellent vehicle for seniors and young drivers.
Pros: Good milage per gallon and fun to drive.
Cons: None so far. This 2008 vehicle, with automatic transmission, has averaged 24 miles per gallon since I prichased it new in 2007. It has a large cargo capacity with the back seats folded gown and ample cargo area for grocery shopping and day to day usage. It is comfortable, very 'peppy' with 4 cyl engine and fun to drive. I have driven it about 30,000 miles since purchased new and have had no mechanical failures, major or minor. I am very satisfied with the performance.
Pros: I POD JACK
Cons: ARM RESTI PLAN ON KEEPING THIS CAR FOR A LONG TIME. I USALLY GET A NEW CAR EVERY TWO YEARS BUT IM VERY HAPPY WITH THIS ONE.
Lovin my box
Pros: Good power
Cons: Road noise on coarse pavementI use it for hauling stuff instead of a small pick up.I average about 25mpg and it does a great job keeping things dry and I have plenty of inside storage room so I don't have to wrry about things 'walking off'. I'm 6'3' and I got plenty of room. So far the box has been the perfect vehicle for my needs.
The worst dision I have ever made!
Pros: the stereo
Cons: The rest of it, its a piece of junk! When I bought this car Toyota never told me these Scion's consume oil on a regular basis! This is not a joke my '08' Scion XB with 46K miles now & uses 3 out of 4 quarts of oil in 5000 miles. Both Toyota & Scion have made many excuses like 'this car is made for metropoliton use only'. We use this for our business and we travel about 200 miles a day, so for $24K you can't drive that new car around. Today I noticed that the car is using antifreeze, because there is a leak, possible water pump, but can't confirm. The dealer has been a major problem for us, our car was in for service, & got hit in there parking lot, they refuse to give me there Insurance info, and never called my insurance comp. back! So we have $1000 worth of damages & no one cares! We only get 23 mpg very low for a four cylinder, once again they (dealer & Corprate) blames all the extra weight, which doesn't exceed there cabin weight! Also the brakes suck, there very squishy, feels like theres air in the lines! I asked the dealer to do a 'power bleed', and they said it doesn't need it! I am a mechanic by trade now for 20+ yrs & Toyota need to re-evailuate the word efficient, any car these days shouldn't be using any oil at all! Last, when you have your oil changed, ask them to measure the oil that comes out of the engine. If you have a 4 cylinder normaly that would take 4 quarts. 4 go in 4 should come out any less means your car has issues. Save your self DON'T BUY A TOYOTA!
Pros: The ride
Cons: No clock
Advice: be sure to drive it before you buy it. Make sure it fits you and your needsJust purchased the scion xb and I find the ride very smooth and comfortable. It truly has to feel of a car with the comfort of an suv. I get the same mileage and pick up as I did with my impala which surprises me a great deal. The interior is extremely roomy and comfortably fits me at 5'7' and my fiance at 6'11' in both the drivers and passenger seats
Pros: Utility & Space
Cons: Front seat arm rests
Advice: Get over the unique looks and take one for a test drive! This is a great family vehicle for the money. Overall Toyota quality and unique design makes this a can't miss purchase.
