best vehicle I ever owned!
Pros: looks great
Cons: seats uncomfortable/more leg room
6years,8oooomiles,no problems-replaced battery, tires and brakes only! just a great car.Pros: Gas mileage and the incredible ammount of room inside for such a small car on the outside
Cons: No temp guage
Advice: test drive
My brother borrowed my Scion xA and got into a wreck with it. The car took out 2 small telephone poles and a railroad control box. The car was totaled, but my brother was able to walk away with only a couple of scratches. I feel very safe in this model of car, and would buy another one in a heart beat if I were to get another new car.Pros: Look great, great interior, and finally a sound system worth buying
Cons: Kidney jolting ride.
Advice: Don't, unless you can live with the bumps, or negotiate new shocks
You only need to know two things to stop considering this vehicle, and you can get at it during the test drive: a) Notice how each and every tiny bump, divot, crack is immediately transferred to your spine. If there are shock absorbers on this car, you'd never know it. b) Notice how it just doesn't want to get out of first gear, when you turn it on, until it's warmed up. Mmmm, maybe that's why the sales guy always took 10 minutes to 'find' an available xA in the lot. Now imagine yourself warming up the car, everyday, for the rest of your ownership.Pros: The Pioneer multi-disk MP3 compliant sound system allows you to put thousands of songs at your fingertips.
Cons: Poor acceleration 0 - 60 mph in 10 seconds.
Advice: Ask for the keyless entry security system.
Unlike most sub-compacts the driver of the Scion sits higher in traffic. Visibility is excellent. Their is a problem with the rear headrest blocking your rear right view. Exercise caution. The vehicle is very manuverable. I was very impressed with its responsiveness to road conditions. Air conditioning is extremely efficient. The reason I settled for this small car is the great gas mileage. I drove from Houston TX to my home (125 miles) on 3.5 gallons of gas. The Toyota reputation for quality was what sold me.Pros: Fuel Efficiancy
Cons: Bumpy ride
Advice: Since it is new I would say be cautios.
Kind of a bumpy ride. Since it is a new model I am unable to get reliabe information about it.Pros: THE EXTERIOR ITS VERY COOL LOOKING,IT MAKES ME SMILE.
Cons: I WAS SUPPOSE TO GET 38 MILESTO A GALLON ON THE HIGHWAY I GET 30.
Advice: FORGET THE REST OF THE COMPETITIVE MODELS SCION IS A TOYOTA ITS RELIABLE.
FOR HAVING SUCH A SMALL ENGINE IT GIVES YOU A PEPPY PERFORMENCE IT FEELS LIKE A LITTLE RACE CAR,AMAZING.Pros: 38 MPG and design
Cons: Horse power
Advice: If you want a compact car the xA is simply the best bang for your buck.
As a former VW Golf GT owner my expectations were high. The Scion xA passed the test. On the hiwaay, my xA is at home, with a surprisingly quite and smooth ride. While in traffic, I love that there are virtually no blind spots. The engine looks and runs great, but delivers poorly when compared to my old Golf GT. I miss the punch. As an XM listener, the fact that the receiver is XM ready is a big plus as well. I commute 125 miles a day to work. I’m looking forward to the time my XM, xA, and myself will spend together. My wife is a bit jealous.
