Pros: Appearance, performance, quality, standard equipment
Cons: Fuel economy
Advice: Get the Azure Pearl (best-looking color for this car)I'm a long-time subcompact owner, and I was looking to replace my wonderful (but bland) Honda Civic. I read quite a bit about Scion, particularly the tC (didn't quite fit Toyota's target demographic being 48, but oh well). When I finally got the chance to test-drive one, I was hooked! The tC may be the best automotive value you can get for under $18,000. WHAT I LIKE: 1. Standard equipment(have yet to get any add-on accessories; don't need 'em! Lots of cool places to store your stuff, too) 2. Overall appearance (the car turns heads; I recommend the Azure Pearl finish, although this is apparently the hardest color to find) 3. Comfort (seats 4 adults comfortably; it's roomier than it looks) 4. Drivability (more than adequate acceleration, responsive handling, solid feel on road) 5. Quality (looks more expensive than it is; excellent fit-and-finish of materials) WHAT I DON'T LIKE 1. Fuel economy is a bit below-average for a subcompact. 2. Minor blind spot at the C-pillar. 3. Toyota may have a clear idea about how they want to market and sell this car, but I'm not sure the dealers do; almost seems as if they don't know how to sell it, and finding the color you want (particularly the above-mentioned Azure Pearl) might be difficult, depending on where you live. 4. Optional equipment (spoiler, foglamps, stereo upgrade) are a little pricey.
Pros: Speaker System
Advice: It's an awesome car, perfect buy!Really nice car. Sporty and affordable. I got the 2006 Special Edition and I love it. Drives wonderful!
Pros: Torquey 2.4 engine: classic recipe of big engine in small car!
Cons: Doors are wide and heavy, can make entering and exiting tricky in crowded spaces.
Advice: Buy it. Simple as that.An excellent choice: Toyota reliability and resale value, good mpg, inherently safe, truly fun to drive. Almost perfect: like other owners I would like a rear window wiper and a sixth gear, but for the money the tC is a great bargain 'as is.' Called by some a baby Lexus. Lots of OEM and aftermarket accessories available too.
Pros: 5 speed
Advice: get a bumper protector instaled at dealerhandled great good pickup good foot room for driver and passenger also a 6ft person can sit in the back comfertable
Pros: TWO Sunroofs!!!
Advice: Be sure you consider many other options so you're sure of your decision - you won't be sorry!!!I wanted to downsize from a mid-sized luxury car. For about 4 months I passively searched for an affordable, sporty car with a feminine yet strong, stately appearance. When I saw the tC online, I was immediately impressed, particularly with all the standard options. I traded my car for the Scion and I haven't had any regrets! Everyone who hears that I traded a luxury car for a Toyota thinks I have lost my mind. But when they see MY Scion (w/the Bilet Grille, tinted windows, and racing wheels added by my dealer!!!), they immediately see why - it's awesome!!! I've had several new cars but this tops the stack - great job, Toyota!!!
Pros: Comes packed with options...standard
Cons: Bit of a blind spot.
Advice: If you are looking for an exceptional vehicle for an exceptional price, look no furtherMy friend owns a 2005 Tc, I bought one a month after I test drove his! The quality, performance and overall look of the vehicle far surpass anything even near it in price. I would be paying thousands more for some of the features that come standard on this car.
Pros: Panoramic sunroof
Cons: No place to put a map book
Advice: Buy it, you can't help but love itGood pick up, especially for a 4 cylinder engine.
