My 2002 VW Jetta broke down on me completely with only 65,000 miles on it. (don't buy VW) So I was in desperate need of a new car. I test drove the Dodge Caliber, Honda Civic, and Toyota Corolla, I couldn't make up my mind as to which car to get. Neither of these cars had the 'complete' package. It was 2 weeks of stress and became overwhelmed, until I came across the Scion TC. I have to admit that buying my 2006 Tc was the best choice I have ever made in my life!! I love this car!!!, it has the look, quality, comfort...and best of all it gives me great mpg!!! -

Advice: Expect a reliable, cute, cost-efficient little car....and enjoy it!
Peppy around town, a bit less so with AC engaged (but it's an automatic). Cruises easily @ 65 MPH. Decent comfort (not as bumpy a ride as a Miata)! Great quality and gas milage. Handy for surprisingly large items (with back seats folded down). However, you'll miss the (not available) cruise control on interstate driving. A lot for the money!!! -

I researched cars for two years prior to buying my Scion Xa and let me say, I LOVE THIS CAR !!! I am asked on a weekly basis about how much it cost, what the MPG is and where you can buy one. The unique styling makes it stand out in the crowd of sedans and monster SUVS on the road today. I was also surprized by just how big it is on the inside. If you fold the back seats down there is ample space for large items. I also love the fact that you are seated higher up than in other cars. That means that I am on the same eye level with people in trucks and SUVs and have a much better view of what is around me. And remember this car has all Toyota parts meaning that you get Toyota quality with unique style and at a cheaper price. The one thing that I do not like is that the right hand air conditioner/heating vent is directly behind the stearing wheel so the air is blocked and your hand is either freezing or burning up. -

At 200 miles got car washed and air dryer caused spoiler to vibrate so much pieces fell off and had to have spoiler taken off and rebolted to car, plus having to wait almost a month for parts. At 1800 miles bolt fell off cowling under engine while driving on interstate. Cowling then hit highway from air pressure and tore it up. Went to dealer and was told bolts falling off and damage caused by cowling hitting raod were not covered by warranty. So far this has been the worst car I have ever owned! -

Pros: So many standard features (sound system, moon roof, wheels, etc.) that are pricy upgrades in other cars
Cons: gas mileage is pretty good, but it could be better
Advice: It is definitely worth every penny
This car has some serious giddy up. It rides very smoothly and is very quiet. It's a Toyota product, so how can you go wrong?!! -

Advice: Don't go bananas on the accessories... doesn't need it.
Driving this car is an absolute joy. I saw this car at the SF auto show in 2004 and finally got one a year later. I had to order it and wait about two months. I have averaged between 24 and 29 mpg in mixed driving... not bad but better would be nice. Overall I love this car... would recommend it without hesitation!
