Scion FR-S Release Series 1.0 Arrives At Dealers

For a limited run vehicle, 1,500 may seem like a lot. But for the Scion FR-S, which is designed to be an affordable, mass-produced sports car, 1,500 vehicles may seem to be the right amount. Like all other Scion models, the FR-S is getting a special edition model called the Release Series 1.0.

The Release Series FR-S comes with a distinctive Yuzu exterior paint color, TRD Quad Tip Exhaust System, TRD lowering springs, HID headlamps with LED daytime running lights, and a custom-designed aero kit which includes a rear spoiler. Inside, the Release Series FR-S is equipped with TRD steering wheel and shift knob, black seats with a T-pattern, and Smart Key with Push Button Start.

The FR-S Release Series can also be equipped with either a six-speed manual transmission or automatic transmission with paddle shifters. Power still comes from a 2.0L Boxer-Four with 200 horsepower and 151 pound-feet of torque.

Pricing for the Scion FR-S Release Series 1.0 stands at $30,760 for the six-speed manual and $31,860 for the six-speed automatic. Prices include a $770 destination charge.
