Cons: To much plastic inside.
Advice: Drive it IN snowI have owned this vehicle for a year and a half. Love it! The best vehicle I have ever driven in the snow. Solid ride ,no rattles, great heater. Awesome stereo. Does not dent! Tried the honda crv, ( very reliable reputation), but very uncomfortable, and loud. Wanted an american made vehicle, and I'm very happy I bought this, Love my VUE.
Pros: Plastic panels/good power from the V6 (3.0 liter)/AWD
Cons: Can never quite find the right seating position. Wish it had just a wee bit more adjustment. Should be better with the 2004's power seats.
Advice: Ours is just about fully loaded (leather etc...). This was for comfort (lots of time behind the wheel) so for 2003 go with all the options, you won't be sorry!Haved owned 'big blue' for almost 2 years and 46K miles. I've had no problems and only a few minor issues that were fixed by our local Saturn Retailer. This was our 5th Saturn and I would say our best all around...not that we've had a bad Saturn yet! Service has been great and forsee us as continued Saturn customers in the future.
Pros: Roominess, all purpose use, good V6 power and uses 87 octane fuel.
Cons: Too much plastic in the interior, then it is not sold as a luxury SUV either.
Advice: Saturn reliability is good and is big on customer feedback. Improvements continue to be made on the VUE. Check it out.Have owned a 2003 Saturn VUE, V6, AWD, for over one year. It is our second Saturn vehicle purchase. Have nothing but praise for the Saturn Dealer in our area. Overall really like the VUE. Have the leather package, moon roof, bra, chromed wheels and rear spoiler. Problems all covered under warranty: 1. Gas gauge sending unit replaced. 2. Rattle in dash board at freeway speeds, replaced hood hinge unit. Vehicle does exibit torque steer when punching the accellerator to pass. Understand this problem has been addressed in the 04 models and up. Overall, my family and I have been pleased with this vehicle. The 04 models and up, with the V6 option, offer the Honda 3.5 liter 250 HP. Since we do not use ours for towing, the 3.0 liter, 180 HP engine does fine for all of our needs. With the 5 speed automatic, it has good torque at the low end. It has plenty of power for passing and steep hill climbing, on a paved road surface even with the vehicle loaded. Plenty of storage space and just a good all purpose vehicle for hauling people or loads.
Pros: The room
Advice: This is a very safe car!I owned a 2003 Saturn Vue from the day it only had 4 miles on it! I loved my VUE! My car was hit by a drunk driver going 55MPH in a Ford F150, he pushed it about 1/2 block and then down a steep imbankment. My car rolled 1 1/2 times before coming to rest on it roof against a house. I was not in the car during the accident, I was standing on my front porch saying good bye to some friends that were just about to leave. I have since then gone and looked at my car, and it is totaled because of the hard impact the truck did to my car, but I would have lived and any passengers that were in my vehicle would have lived also! I will be buying a another Saturn vue, becuase of this feature! They are very well put together cars!
Pros: Lots of room, feels safe, great visability.
Cons: Suspension, door panels and knobs feel cheap.
Advice: Get ABS! Make sure you can live with the noise over rough roads.Loved my 3 S-Series cars but my mid-size L was a huge lemon. Decided to get the Vue anyway. The V6 FWD is quite peppy but Saturn must have been going downhill when they estimated the gas mileage. Suspension is VERY noisy - it shakes and bangs like I've got 200,00 miles on it - and I'm going to ask the dealer if they can do anything about it. I noticed it on the test drive so I can't complain. My first week I got rear-ended by a Subaru wagon, which was a big mess but my Vue took it very well. Doors sound cheap and rattle-y when you shut them and the temperature control knob feels so cheap I'm almost afraid to turn it. The Vue got great crash-test reviews. I feel safe in it. Having had cars with ABS and then without, I had the dealer search out one with ABS for me. It's a must-have for the full combat commute into Boston.
Pros: The V6 engine--nice power
Cons: The steering--its electronic so you have to get used to it
Advice: Go for the V6. Its definitely worth the extra money. The performance of the V6 AWD is MUCH better than the four cylinder. Don't expect much power with the four cylinder. It was lethargic. The car is too heavy for that little engine. The cloth seats also were not as nice as the cloth in the V6 model. So...therefore I bought the V6 instead.
Cons: manual gas lid opening
Advice: good luckThis is my second vue in less than 15 days, because the first one just died in one week. In this second vue I had a problem from very begining & I still have problem, when I take turn,it makes noise in my front wheel.
