good reliable car-just want something smaller
Pros: Good Value
Cons: Gear Shifts Hard
Advice: Drive the Vehicles in this class with the 4 cyl and Manual, the Vue the best value
I traded my 2003 Tacoma Truck extend cab with a 4 cyl and 5 speed that only got 22 mpg for a Vue. The Vue has a lot of room and it gets 24 to 28 with a 4 cyl and 5 speed. it has more pep than my Tacoma and much quiter, and a better ride! and durring the specials they had this summer it was cheeper than the truck! Toyota dealers seem to keep there prices high while GM has been forced to cut theirs. It has electric assisted steering so it has no power steering pump, but this seems to make the steering a little bit touchy. The 5 speed is geared nice and it gives me power when Im in a lower gear. I got alot of extras, Sun roof, power door and windows all for under $17,000. Downsides? Loaded with 5 people you have to downshift on steep hills, the five speed is not smooth at all trying to get it into gear, but its quiet. The electric steering is a little touchy and the interior is not as smartly designed or as good looking as a Ford Escape or a Toyota.Pros: The Ride
Cons: Transmission - Manual Transaxle
Advice: Buy extended warranty
Smooth drive, and handled well. Tight shifting a little jumpy.Pros: The flat back seat is great for a car seat.
Cons: There were a lot of major mechanical problems.
Advice: Find something else..... or at least another year.
I have had nothing but problems with this vehicle. From having to have the air conditioning replaced shortly after purchase to having the catalytic converter sheer apart, having to replace the alternation at 40,000 miles as well as having to replace another pre-convertor and two ignition coils that weren't covered by warranty, I say RUN!!! Try to find another vehicle that will cause you less grief. It looks good, but don't get fooled.Pros: AWD
Cons: Interior dash and door panels
Advice: Look at alternatives with better gas mileage, quieter interior
When new it test drove great, lots of performance and reasonbly quiet. It had its share of problems initially with things like AC water leaks (4 times), Front strut noise, defective sun roof deflector. Having current issue with Engine Coolant loss, noisy steering and noisy suspension. I have 65,000 miles on it and it gets noisier as time goes by. I get complaints from passengers of noise. I like my 2002 Pathfinder better.Pros: V 6 PERFORMANCE
Cons: SMALL REAR SPACE
Advice: LOAD IT UP
LIKED THE WAY IT HANDLED V 6 PERFORMANCE WAS VERY NICE ON THE HWY OVERALL APPERENCE WAS VERY NICEPros: I love the collapsible rack in the rear area.
Cons: None
Advice: I recommend the ABS system, which I did not get with my vehicle.
The vehicle drives smoothly and it's GREAT on gas mileage.
