I purchased a 2005 Relay and was back in the dealer within 2 weeks of purchase and that's only the start. First thing out of vehicle, compressor to the air conditioning unit. Front passenger air bag needed replaced, was faulty and made awful rattling noise. Interior and exterior lights dim in and out constantly. Grinding noise upon starting. Over extended start up. 2 alternators replaced. Intake manifold replaced, both in the attempt to fix lighting problems. Came with a bug shield on the front, makes horrid wind noise. Bad seal on front window. Makes more rattling noise physically then a 20 yr. old car! Loud ringing/humming noise when DVD is playing. Had to seek legal help, no help from dealership or corporation. -

Sounds like a lot of people in the same situation as myself. I also bought a 2005 Relay 3 at the end of 2005. What a mistake. We bought this vehicle to replace a 2003 Vue 4 cyclinder that had transmission problems, if I would have known that I would have endless trips to the service dept, I would have went else where. Current problems are hanging starter, creaking windows, alternator,rough idle and horn. It has already been in for moldings twice, roaters, some kind of bushing replacement, hanging starter, rough idle (both still not fixed), headlight burned out after couple of months, seemed to stall like no gas, but light had just came on right before parking the night before and the list goes on. Good luck to all of you, and continue to fight because I know I will. -

I purchased a new Saturn 2005 relay July 2005 to replace another problem vehicle. I should have stayed with the other vehicle. My problems with this vehicle are the starter hangs and the vehicle suddenly stalls, the headlamp sensor, which was replaced, the DVD system, the moldings both interior and exterior, air leaks around the doors, transmission does not shift properly, and the tires wore out in under 8 months. Saturn should make a lemon juicer, that way you could at least have lemonade while you wait for the tow truck. Do not buy this vehicle, ever -
2006 Saturn RELAY - 3 FWD
Pros: The entertainment package.
Cons: The back hatch does not have a automatic release button.
Advice: Compare test drives and you will certainly choose the Relay over any other.
Very powerful 3.9 V6. I found the seats to be very form fitting and since you sit up a little higher in this CUV you get a lot better view of your surroundings. Controls were easy to find and use. Very smooth shifting and low noise from outside. -

Well, looks like Melissa D from Wisconsin and I have vans from the same assembly line (with extremely similar problems). Saturn had to replace the alternator x1 (but it's fritzing again), the molding is falling off, saturn replaced the radio, the rear sliding door (non-automated door) has lock problems, and that same door has alarm problems, the DVD needs repair/replacement, and the headlamp sensor was replaced. We currently have less than 11,000 miles on the vehicle and have had it into the shop more than 5 times. Sometimes I feel like I need a support group to deal with this car! The only redeeming quality about this vehicle is that it drives nice--knock on wood!-- the engine runs smooth and is hassle free. I would also change the controls for the DVD to be friendlier for the driver to control from up front. -

Advice: If you get a lemon, fight for your money back!!!
I had to have it repainted because it was flawed, all moldings fell off and had to be reglued, DVD player was defective, Alternator had to be replaced 2x's, the inside door handle fell off 2x's, the A/C stopped working, 2 of the windows had to be replaced for flaws, it had engine failure, and last but not least, the breaks went out.... ALL BY 3,000 MILES!!!! -

GREAT CAR. THE FAMILY LOVES IT. WE PAID $27,555 FOR RELAY 3 WITH DUAL POWER DOORS, REAR ULTRASONIC SENSOR, 6 CD CHANGER , DVD. HANDLES GREAT ON THE ROAD.
