    2003 Saturn Ion - 1 (M5) Sedan

    Pros: N/a

    Cons: Quality!

    Advice: It's nice

I loved my 2003 Ion. Until 3 days ago, when we were rear-ended in a crash. We were stopped, the car that hit us was going less than 15 mph. That low-impact crash put over $4k in damages and the car's FRAME was crunched. What's worse: I had my 18 mo. old son in the back seat. Currently seeking settlement from Saturn for the safety of this vehicle. The only thing between the cheap plastic body and the frame of my car was BLACK STYROFOAM. Sure, it's a nice ride. But had we been hit from the front or side, one of us would not be alive.

    2003 Saturn Ion - 3 (M5) Sedan

    Pros: dash

    Cons: too many to mention

    Advice: don't buy it

Why did I think that buying a new car would be a good idea? I'm silly for expecting a new car to need only the regular oil changes. I've had my ion in the shop numerous times and several times for the same reason. I'm taking it in again on Tuesday for a problem I've had it in 4x before. Of course it's worth nothing on trade in so I'm counting the days until I can get rid of this lemon.

Advice: Don't buy Ion because of the problem with power stearing; they don't know what to do to repair it.

    2003 Saturn Ion - 2 (M5) Sedan

    Pros: Comfy seats.

    Cons: Transmission and electrical problems.

Advice: Get the exteneded warranty, at 40,000 miles I still have to take it in for repair.

Car is comfortable and quite roomy. Issues we have had are transmission problems (automatic) and other electical problems. Too many visits to the service department have been difficult.

    2003 Saturn Ion - 3 (M5) Sedan

    Pros: Center console

    Cons: gas mileage; backseat room

Advice: Go for it; The gas mileage is good (I average 27 with 'mixed' driving) but I expected better for the small engine; I wish some of the trunk space was given up for backseat room (the trunk is huge!) but overall

I love it! It has such get up & go for a small engine, relatively comfortable seats (in my opinion) and the cup-holders were not an afterthought; I got the 2004 Ion 3 Special Edition package and highly recommend it. It is very 'expensive looking' with the lower price tag. I have 2-tone leather seats, sunroof, spoiler, alloy wheels, chrome exhaust tip, 6 disc changer, etc and with the rebates etc, I only owe about 15k with 0% financing; Also, the Saturn dealership has really spoiled me. I think all my future cars will have to be Saturns now!

    2003 Saturn Ion - 3 (M5) Coupe

    Pros: Two Rear Opening Doors

Cons: Cruise Conrol on Steering Column

Advice: If you're looking for a comfortable ride, don't buy this vehicle.

An attractive car with some wonderful features. All of which take a backseat to the 'uncomfortable, stiff and noisy ride the car provides'. The car doesn't take the smallest road bumps very well. The vehicle is one of the most attractive on the market with the 2 rear 'opening' doors which provide lots of leg room for rear passengers as well as ease of entry and exit. Also comes with lots of trunk space for easy storage. I don't like the cruise control on the steering column which causes it to be accidently engaged, nor the center console arm rest which is too high for an armrest. The exterior driver and passenger mirror control button could use a center position to prevent inadvertent changes.
