Cons: cup holders
Advice: to buyExcellent car for the money.Superb accelation, very good handling, excellent braking, little oversteer/due to front wheel drive/,very good driving position. Low profiles tires look good, but bad on potholls, somewhat noisy, but 2003 Saab switched to Michelin which is big improvement. Overall score 90/0-100/ in my humble opinion Alex
Cons: cup holders and needs an in dash six dish CD
Advice: Test drive itThis is an awesome driving machine. It handles great in the city during rush hour (great breaks) and when set free on the open highway you better set your cruise control. The sound system (200 watts) has plenty of power and very clean for acoustical instrumental jazz and classical recordings.
Pros: 250 hp standard transmission that really cooks
Cons: lack of all wheel drive
Advice: If you love to drive a standard transmission, this is the one!I am a die-hard manual transmission lover. I test drove both a manual 185 hp Linear and the 250 hp Aero wagons. I found the Linear adequate but not exciting to drive. The seating position was comfortable and firm, acceleration was okay, but when I took it up a local steep mountain, it hovered between 3rd and 4th gears. I also took it over a very bumpy backroad and found the suspension wonderfully smooth. I loved the ride and feel, but felt it was underpowered compared to the Allroad. The extra hp in the Aero manual made up the difference. This wagon wants to leap forward out of your hands from the minute you put it into first gear. It is as much fun to drive as my Jaguar X-Type manual 3.0 5 speed. For $10,000 less than the Audi Allroad 5 speed, this car really delivers! Even the 270 hp W8 VW Passat wagon doesn't even come close to the 250 hp Aero. It is comparable to the Linear, however. As a footnote, my kids are excited about the heated rear seats in the Saab--a feature I have not found anywhere else.
