    2004 Saab 9-3

Has looks and engine, but falls short elsewhere

    Pros: Engine

    Cons: Quality

This vehicle is very poorly constructed. I have had nothing but trouble since I bought it. I've had 2 inches of water in the floor from a leak under the hood somewhere, the gearshift knob has comes off in my hand several times despite being fixed, parts fall off, trim comes off, computer stops working, the list goes on and on. It's slow torture. Through it all, the engine runs great - never a problem there.

    2004 Saab 9-3 - Linear Sport Sedan

    Pros: Appearance

    Cons: Reliability

Advice: Do not buy a Saab

This has been the least reliable vehicle I have ever owned. I do NOT recommend this car. I have 20,000 miles on my 2004 9-3 and I have had it in the dealership for service 17 times. I have had fuel pump, locking system, driver's power window, trip computer, steering column lock, and starting system replaced. My recommendation...stay away from SAAB!

    2004 Saab 9-3 - Arc Sport Sedan

Pros: turbo engine, cabin atmosphere, aura

    Cons: creaks and rattles

Advice: when you test drive try to see if you can hear any creaks or rattles

Engine is obviously a lot of fun to work with. Perfect for the weekend racer and weekly commuter. My biggest issue with the car is the creaking and rattling I hear everywhere. The places that creak include: driver side door panel, sunroof lining, rear driver side seat area, and dashboard. I have surround sound creaking whenever there are minor vibrations on the road. Every shift in weight causes some sort of creak. I hear these problems are covered under warranty so I'll check my car in soon. Otherwise my new car is fun to drive. CHECK FOR CREAKS IT'S DRIVING ME NUTS.

    2004 Saab 9-3 - Arc Sport Sedan

    Pros: EVERYTHING!!

    Cons: NOTHING!

    Advice: Buy It!!!!!!!!!!!

The minute I finished my test drive, I knew I had to have it. Compared to the overpriced BMW 3 series and powerless Audi A4, Saab gave me exactly what I needed. The handling on the car is exclellent as well as the power packed into the little 4-cylinder engine. Everything about the car blew me out of the water.

    2004 Saab 9-3 - Arc Sport Sedan

    Pros: Engine performance

Cons: interior design including onboard entertainment system

    Advice: Don't do it!!!!!!!

This vehicle's interior design does not function. The radio selection does not hold the station for future use, the seat memory gets reset each time the driver swings both legs over the seat to exit. The window controls on the door panels are in a location where resting one's arm generally opens the windows. The cup holder dumps it's contents onto the poor unsuspecting passenger. The cruise control self-engages. And, you can't change the radio band with a single button push, but instead have to flip through a number of settings and options, try that while driving in rush hour traffic. NOT. This is my 4th SAAB and I won't ever buy another. GM has destroyed this European model. I still love my 2000 9-5 and won't trade it in!

    2004 Saab 9-3 - Aero Sport Sedan

    Pros: handling

    Cons: turbo lag

Advice: Don't buy the base model

This car is a blast to drive. The interior is sporty, luxurious, and beautiful. This car is definitely the best value for the dollar in the sport sedan category. The ride is a little stiff, but having driven sports cars for past 10 years...this car rides like a dream.....if your can handle a little stiffness. Tons of high tech gagetry. I love it more everyday.

    2004 Saab 9-3 - Aero Convertible

    Pros: Retractable roof

    Cons: Low end torque

Advice: Purchase one if you can. It is a beautiful automobile.

Just purchased a 2004 black Aero convertible. Test drove the BMW 330 CI, Audi A4, S4 and Mercedes CLK series and purchased the Saab. The styling and finish (both interior and exterior) makes for a truly stunning automobile. The car is slightly under powered with low end torque but the handling, suspension and great looks makes up for it. The car continues to turn heads as they are not very popular in Toronto. Will definitely need to purchase all season tires for the winter.
