With all apologies to Miguel Cabrera, the Detroit Tiger’s third baseman isn’t the only Motor City superstar again chasing Triple Crown glory this year—if you count the Ram pickup as a Detroit native. That's because Ram brand is back in the saddle as the exclusive automotive partner of the first leg of horse-racing’s Triple Crown, the Kentucky Derby. It’s the fourth consecutive year of the partnership, which this year will feature Ram as the Official Truck of Churchill Downs and the Kentucky Derby, as well as a “Dominate the Field” theme during the 139th Run for the Roses.

Visitors—and the millions of fans watching the Derby on television—will see a plethora of Ram promotions during the event, including television, print and digital efforts, and there also will be numerous vehicle displays and plenty of signage on site at the track. Even the gate crew will be decked out in Ram-ready uniforms to show their support for the truck.

“Efficient, dependable and powerful trucks are a must-have tool for Kentucky Derby owners, trainers, track crew members and racing fans alike,” said Reid Bigland, president and CEO of the Ram Truck Brand. “With best-in-class fuel economy and towing capability, Ram trucks are designed and engineered to meet customer needs throughout this world-class sport.”

Of course, the 2013 Ram is getting plenty of support in the marketplace, too, where it just scored 31,409 April sales and a 49 percent jump in volume that outpaced the growth of every other full-size pickup in the country.
