Dodge's truck brand Ram is giving fans of the great outdoors a new way to show it on their truck. The Ram 1500 Mossy Oak Edition uses the camouflage brand to add an appearance package to the 2012 Ram 1500 Outdoorsman 4x4 Crew Cab.
Outside, this special edition 1500's bedcaps and tailgate are covered in Mossy Oak's Break-Up Infinity camouflage pattern, and the Mossy Oak logo appears on the rear quarter panels. Inside, the center instrument stack and the door panel inserts get similar Infinity camo treatment. Also, the Mossy Oak logo is embroidered on the all four headrests (optional Espresso Tuscany-colored leather seats get the logo as well.)
The Ram Mossy Oak Edition will start at $39,910 when it arrives at Ram dealers next month. Ram claims this includes the $995 destination charge, which means the package is only about $1500 more than a comparable Outdoorsman. So not a whole lot of substance is added to this appearance package, but for a special edition pickup, it does not cost a whole lot more either.
Ram will likely find a home for plenty of Mossy Oak Edition trucks with people who are as loyal to their camouflage brand as they are to their truck maker. For those who do not need the camo or a few interior comforts, the Ram Express 4x4 Crew Cab is a cheaper truck that has the 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 as standard (this engine in the Ram Mossy Oak Edition will likely push it over $40k.)
