Prepare Your Checkbooks: McLaren Announces Pricing for the 650S

McLaren has announced official pricing for the 650S line-up ahead of its official North American debut at the New York Auto Show. The 650S will begin at $265,500 for the coupe and $287,225 for the convertible. The hefty pricetag includes McLaren's famed 3.8L twin-turbo V8 engine, churning out 641-horsepower and 500 lb-ft of torque and mated to a seven-speed SSG transmission. Performance specs indicate the 650S can make the run from 0-60mph in 2.9 seconds, with a top speed of 207 MPH.

"The McLaren 650S represents 50 years of road and racing car know-how. Everything we've learnt from the 12C and the McLaren P1™ has gone into this car, creating a car with the widest breadth of capabilities of any production supercar. It's also a new benchmark in pure driving excitement," said Mike Flewitt, Chief Executive Officer of McLaren Automotive.

The McLaren 650S goes on sale in the United States later this year.
