Great vehicle. Plenty of carrying space, comfortable, sporty and good styling.
Great vehicle, love the space, good mileage
Pros: Cargo carrier; seat adjustment; popout backseats
Cons: frame in middle of back windows at rearview eye level
This vehicle has great take off power, quick speed, lots of room-I brought home a loveseat in it! It is so-o easy to get in and out of.Pros: the look
Cons: reliability
Advice: don't buy!!!
Reliabilty is very poor-been in for service in last six months for 2 ignition problems and 4 front wheel bearing/hub problems. I have the AWD model and the dealer told me last time to avoid potholes and rough roads. My vehicle has never been offroad and is on blacktop 99.9% of time. It has under 28,000 miles on it. Pontiac will not stand behind their product. Buy a Toyota or a Honda! I was sucked in by the look-don't make the same mistake!Pros: the motor very zippy-the interior comfy and overall look is really cool
Cons: the AWD performance was very disappointing
Advice: test drive the AWD in the snow before you buy
We bought our Torrent NEW in 2006--I like the general look, color and the interior is comfy--great little zippy motor with lots of power--BUT the AWD is the WORST EVER--we have had other AWD vehicles that went like tanks BUT NOT THE TORRENT--we live in snow country and I have been stuck more times than I can count and when the AWD kicks in for no reason it throws the car sideways in the road--this is the first vehicle I am afraid to drive in the winter it makes a great summer car but I got the AWD for the winter months! Considered buying a Trailblazer then and now we are trading our Torrent in on one before winter comes again!Pros: Price/color
Cons: The spoiler
Advice: I like this vehicle
I have had to replace the back spoiler 3 times and not sure if they have fixed the problem yet. Certain times I could not get the hatch to open from the warping of the spoiler when the sun hits it. This doesn't always happen. So we are hoping it's fixed. I really like my car and the color is great too but I am going to trade it in when the warranty runs out.Pros: Sunroof/ moonroof
Cons: cargo net hooks- round so they don't exactly hold the hoops very well
Advice: Don't buy the base model.. Spend a couple of extra bucks a month for the upgrades.
Handles great! Love the interior- lots of leg room- and arm room for that matter!Pros: styling and roominess
Cons: the double rear doors are difficult to unlock via the dash and carkey switches
Advice: buy the '03 to '05 - nothing earlier. Accept it for WHAT it is; don't compare it w/ other SUVs
I bought 1 of the last ones in the KC area in 4/06. The 'tek has a an edgy look that wins over a certain kind of driver. I see lots of them in Kansas. Mine is refrigerator white with a black/gray interior. It is an all-purpose vehicle - fusing a station wagon w/ an SUV. It is built on a car chassis, not a truck. I wanted a roomy vehicle but not a luxury one, and I like the higher rise of the vehicle, like a truck. The rear seats come out easily to give you a 'big box' for hauling. I could care less about deluxe features of other SUVs. For me the basic Aztek fit the bill. I find the engine has sufficient performance, though I have yet to load the car up with lots of weight. It is nimble enough in handling. The side mirrors compensate for the split rear window for bacward visibility.
