Getting firsthand information from an actual car owner is one sure way to get an idea of car performance once it leaves the lot. Autobytel features real consumer reviews that give the unbiased experience of a car.
I love this car. I have put over 180,000 miles on it and it still drives like it can go another 180,000 miles. First SUV I have owned and I am a big fan. My friends love the "stadium seating" in the back (slightly raised above the front). I like all of the tie down points on the roof for moving things. The trunk is big and overall the car is very roomy. I love this line of SUVs from Nissan
awesome
Pros: sit high, easy to drive/park
Cons: slow start
only had my Xterra for 1 yr, but I LOVED it!!!!Great vehicle !
Pros: Performance
Cons: interior lighting
Great vehicle, excellent performance and lots of power and appearance is great!Xterra Pro 4x4
Pros: Off Road Capability
Cons: Fuel Economy
Driven: 3,000 miles Pros: Strong engine, the Xterra can get out of its own way when needed. Off Road capability deep Montana snow, no problem. The VDS preforms well on icy roads. Good visibility, comfortable seats (I had the dealer install seat heaters), good sound system. Cons: Poor fuel economy I'm averaging 16MPG. (Granted I've been in 4x4 a lot of those miles). Overall: Can't wait to try out the locking differential sometime this winter. Just wish Nissan would offer the Nismo upgrades for the 2011.2009 Xterra Off Road
Pros: Locking rear diff.
Cons: No exterior temp. gauge???
Great power and torque for a heavy 4 X 4 and it handles well in the snow. Interior quality is very good with high quality materials. The over all ride is good but it is a truck so it will ride like one; it's not a Cadillac! I am Very satisfied with my X.never again in this lifetime!
Pros: getting rid of it
Cons: all of it
I leased this xterra to pull my boat - and it was the worst idea I have ever had. I will never buy another Nissan ever! From the shady sales tactics, the 'take every drop of blood' lease contract, the shoddy & expensive servicing, the astronomically poor gas mileage (11mpg if that), to the cheap metal and finish. This truck offers absolutely no comfort or peace of mind. I was constantly staring at the gas gauge every minute as $30 flew out of my wallet almost daily. It was insane. I took the truck back to nissan a week after I leased it hoping to trade for a different vehicle - needless to say they wouldn't do it. I posted it on leasetrade.. still no luck. I have now grinned and bared it for 3 years.. waiting for the day to turn it in. NOW they want $500 just to return it, PLUS $$$ for normal wear & tear!! Before this I leased an Audi.. they made me feel like a king. Free service for 3 years, a loaner car any time it was needed.. I was in 7th heaven. I guess I must have done someone wrong to be throw directly into Nissan HELL this time. word to the wise... don't do it. There is NOTHING sporty about this suv. no sunroof, no nothing.. just a big stinky gas gussling tin can.Exactly the 4wd needed for retirement
Pros: Good Ground Clearance
Cons: Better milage would be nice.
When I retired the wife and I wanted to continue hunting and fishing. But since we live in Oregon we decided a 4wd might make sense as we are getting older and really don't want to get stuck. The Xterra will go everywhere my '74 Chevy Blazer would, but it so much more comfortable.
