Pros: The Engine
Cons: The Suspension
Advice: Get the sportier Spec V model it won't disappoint youThis car has everything whether you are single or married, four doors for easy pick up and drop off of friends. Also has great speed and acceleration. Also has great torque. This car can really do damage if you know how to drive it correctly, also if you get the right perforance parts for it, it may not be the spec v but it still has the 1.8 liter DOCH engine. A added bonus it already looks nice with the factory body kit and will turn many heads, especially nice looking young lady's head.
Pros: Gas Mileage
Cons: No leg room in the back
Advice: Make sure it has not had any problems then buy it.I took this car for a test drive and I was immediatly hooked. It accelerated quite nicely and got great gas mileage. There is not quite as much room in the back seat as one would hope for, but I am taking out the backseats for a great speaker system so i really dont care. Buy this car, it has yet to break down on me or have anything wrong with it.
Pros: gas mileage, looks of the interior-it really looks rich just like a baby Maxima.
Cons: interior room, transmission slow to adjust to shifts, recalls
Advice: Make sure it is what you want- research and test drive as many as you can- drive on the freeway and test the transmission especially with the automatic.Got as a gift.Would have gotten a different car.I had two recalls on two items that could have been very dangerous had they gone a little longer.First recall was for cracks in the wheel that might cause the tire to seperate and remove it's self from the wheel.Second regarding the cam position sensor.Hated dealing with the rude dealership for anything.Nice for the price, even has get up and go.Which is nice for a 126 horse power car.Sometimes hesitates going in to 2nd(automatic).Like it can't quite find the gear.Interior is very nice better than Civic. Not a big fan of the exterior, mainly the back-end. Great gas mileage 40 mpg highway and 28 street.Test drive many times before you buy to be sure that this is the right car for you.I only 5ft.8 in. and my seat is back all of the way, and it is impossible to get anyone in the seat comfortably behind me.When I drive for longer that an hour my feet fall asleep because the seat is so uncomfortable and I can't position the seat right according to the pedals for my long legs.Sound system is nice-mine came with CD and tape, but the tape player ruined the first tape I attempted to play in it.
Pros: Looks and Torque
Cons: Build quality
Advice: Get the manual!!!I drive this car on occasion, but my mom is the primary drive. Surprisgly, I prefer my Saturn since it is BY FAR mor comfortable. Even with the highly adjustable seats, the driving position in the car stinks. The wheels is just to far away and high up, even on its lowest adjustment, same with the seats. I am six foot so I have to have the seat back far. In my car, everything is at my finger tips, in the SE-R, I reach for all. We had to get the automatic since I wasn't about to teach my mom manual ;), but the transmission is HORRIBLY unresponsive, iut must be abused before it will downshift. However, when it does, hold on because this car will launch you into oblivion. It REALLY moves. It also looks great doing it. The front body kit and rear wing add just enough flair without being pretentious. It is just beautiful all the way around. Its our fourth Nissan, and the worst reliability-wise too. Our Altima SE's always ran flawlessly. This has had many little annoying problems, espeicially with the brakes. The whole brake system including the parking brake were faulty on two sperate occasions, fixed by our great service department in a timely manner though. The car is an overall great concept, it just needs more refinement. At the end of this lease, back to the Altima SE.
Pros: My favorite feature of this car is its appearance.
Cons: No power windows or locks.
Advice: This car is made very well, and will last long. The overall test drive reveiw is pleasurable. The handeling, brakes, horn, blinkers and ac/h all works wonderful. This car saves gas.
Pros: Quick acceleration and throttle response
Cons: Rear end exterior design
Advice: Base SE-R recommended for all-season driving. The base SE-R is perfect for everyday driving. It's quick on its feet around town and merges onto the highway with power and enthusiasm. The automatic transmission is slighty abrupt in city driving yet shifts smoothly when accelerating to higher speeds. Even without Spec-V tuning, handling is great for hard cornering. The sport bucket seats are relatively comfortable and supportive, and road feel is firm without compromising ride quality. I particularly love the electronic throttle and CVVT -- engine response is instant at any speed. The engine's sound, however, is less sporty than a typical sports car; it's relatively quiet and smooth like a V-6, which I can appreciate. For under $20,000 this car is a GREAT buy with various options -- sport-tuned suspension, alloy wheels, cruise control, power sunroof, a 300-watt stereo system w/ in-dash 6-CD changer, fog lights, red-illuminated dashboard gauges, security & vehicle immobilizer systems, and remote keyless entry among others. The interior has an ideal mix of sportiness and quality. Nissan's exterior design is attractive and mildy aggressive, with the exeption of the rear end -- its plump, rounded shape defeats the purpose of the oversized spoiler. Since my purchase, there have only been two things that didn't meet my expections. For instance, if you like to drive aggressively, your front brakes may need service within the first year (mine did). Also, I managed to blow out one of the rear speakers within the same time frame. You will still agree that the Rockford Fosgate stereo has great sound, except for the subwoofer, which causes annoying vibrations inside the car rather than richening the base. Overall, I recommend this car to the driving enthusiast looking for the perfect combination of economy and performance for a price well worth it.
Pros: Probably my favorite feature would be the 6 speed manual transmission.
Cons: Really the only thing i disliked was the driver and front passenger cup holders. Large cups made it hard to shift.
Advice: If you want a car thats affordable, safe, has great performance etc. the Sentra SE-R spec v is for you.The one thing that I liked about the Sentra SE-R spec v was that it came with a six speed manual transmission and the great handling that it offers. Also the Rockford Fosgate stereo system gives the sound that extra boost in its sound quality . This car is really the best in its class in my opinion. Especially with that extra 15 horses that it produces. My dad can't get his hands off thew wheel when it comes to him driving it. Both affordable and great performance make this car the best car I've probably ever driven and owned.
