My next vehicle will probably be another Pathfinder as long as the body style doesn't change too much. Plenty of room for an above average guy in height, but watch your weight limits. Great styling.
No
Pros: The Bose sound system
Cons: The wireless garge door opener
I bought this suv brand new with 30 miles on it,within 5.000 miles of driving the belts, arm rest, and break pads had to be replaced, and at 45.000 miles the seals for the transmmision has to be replaced. Yes everything was covered under the warranty, but i'am affraid about what is coming next. The engin virbration is exssesive even by putting in super unleaded only, howver it is a very goodlooking suv. It performs quite well. meaning that it starts up every morning.Pros: Safety
Cons: Third row foot room too cramped for feet my size (12).
Advice: Don't expect good gas mileage; probably not a good commuter because of that.
For a nearly 5000 pound SUV, the Pathfinder LE 4x4 handles very well in normal conditions and exceptionally well in inclement weather conditions. The LE is a luxery vehicle for a relatively moderate price. The fit and finish of the one I have is very good all around. It has been very reliable. I feel confident and safe when driving it.Pros: The 270 HP Engine
Cons: The Cheap Plastic Dash board
Advice: Do not touch the Dashboard, you will scratch it.
As an owner a new 1988 SE(12 YRS) and a new 2005 SE(2 YRS)Pathfinder, I have a quality opinion. The 2005 has plenty of power, looks good and drives well, tows great. This however is NOT the choice vehicle if you have very small children or want to keep it looking new for many years. Small Kids cannot open OR close the rear doors, driver cannot turn on the dome light from his seat, (when the kids lose something at night), the plastic dashboard SCRATCHES too Easily, (light colors even worse). HVAC controls are cumbersom. If you don't keep it very long, it's a good SUV.Pros: Styling
Cons: Heating/cooling controls
Advice: If buying used vehicle, inspect closely for rust. Inquire about bodywork.
We love the styling and performance of this vehicle. We agree with other raters that the the heating/cooling controls are not intuitive to use and are very slow to adjust. In comparison, the controls on other Nissan vehicles (X-trail, Infiniti G35) are far superior. Our major concern is rust appearing on a vehicle that is less than one year old. It was recalled for a defect in the tailgate trim that caused erosion through the underlying paint and rusting. However, we have noticed small rust points on many other spots, and it is less than a year old. Our relatives just bought a new X-trail and the chrome trim is also rusting. Not sure what is going on with Nissan's rustproofing process and I don't know if this is a widespread problem or if our Pathfinder is simply defective. I should also mention that the rusting is occuring despite purchasing the electronic rustproofing unit and paint treatments from the dealer.Pros: performance
Cons: The spare is under the vehicle
Advice: BUY IT NOW....handsdown the best investment you'll ever make.
I fell in love with this vehicle after I went for a test drive. The dealership let me bring it home to show my wife and we are going to buy it tomorrow morning...We love it.Pros: dash board layout and storage.
Cons: Engine noise and miliage
Advice: Buy it! You won't find a better deal on a better SUV
The Pathfinder handles better than the Explorer or the trailblazer and ranks with MDX on comfort. The pricing on the SE is consistantly lower than Ford or Chevy and resale is much higher. I am very happy with this SUV. The only things I don't like are the engine noise and the low MPG's. The dealership is fantastic when it comes to customer satisfaction and the Nissan name says it all.You won't find a better truck at this price.
