2004 Nissan Murano - SL FWD

Pros: The back seats recline which is great for passengers riding in the back. My kids love that.

Cons: CVT. Not impressed at all, lacks power and the downshift decelerating from 20 mph is noisy and obnoxious.

Advice: Its a comfortable vehicle for travel but is not as smooth on the city. A little noisy and the ride is rough, your able to feel almost all the imperfections of the road such as potholes and bumps.

I opted to purchase this vehicle because of the transmission, CVT. I had the impression that it would perform at optimal performances at all times. I discovered that it lacks power and the transmission makes a slight annoying noise decelerating (coming to a stop) right around 25 – 20 miles. The noise can be clearly heard at nights when the road noise is down to a minimal. The one good thing is the vehicle does great on up hills and that is when the CVT makes the difference. Not too many up hills where I live though. Another disappointment is the fuel, NOT GETTING WHAT THE SPECIFICATIONS STATES. Normal driving with fuel of an octane 91 is only getting 19 miles to the gallon at best in the city. Highway miles, 23 miles to the gallon but I can’t really say that is accurate. I will need to verify my results a couple of times before I can vouch on it. The ride is a bit loud and a little rough. Meaning, you can feel the bumps, potholes etc.

2004 Nissan Murano - SL AWD

    Pros: Driving...handling...comfort...the look

Cons: gas mileage...only seeing 16 mpg (city) and 20 mpg (highway) instead of the 'EPA' 20/24mpg

Advice: Definitely take a test drive...your decision will be clear as day and night.

Drives great. Love being high off the ground yet still feel like I'm driving a car instead of a truck. Not so keen about the exhaust pipes being so low, but I don't go off roading with it. Lots of room inside as long as you take out the cargo cover in the back.

2004 Nissan Murano - SL FWD

    Pros: The way it handles

    Cons: Nothing yet.

Advice: Drive it you'll fall in love!

When I first sat behind the wheel, I was truly impressed. I had never driven a SUV and this was a very pleasant surprise. The ride was not rough, and the trasmission is very quiet(you don't even feel it change gears). I also love the color 'Sunlit Copper'.

2004 Nissan Murano - SL FWD

    Pros: Interior Comfort

    Cons: Amber Gauges

Advice: If you like the styling, buy this instead of a Lexus or BMW and save some cash.

This is a great vehicle. Although it is an SUV, it handles like a car. The engine has plenty of power, and the optional leather interior rivals much more expensive autos. I recommend the leather interior and navigation upgrade. I don't really care for the amber colored gauges and the fact that the vehicle has to be stopped even for a passenger to program the navigation system, but these are very small complaints.
