Nissan announced that it will be offering a new way for owners to add a unique touch to their cars with custom-looking vinyl graphics. Available graphics range from simple to ornate and come in a variety of size, shapes and colors. Currently, the graphics are only available for the Nissan Cube and the Nissan Juke, but Nissan also plans to offer them on other models at a later date including the Nissan Frontier. The graphics are supplied by Original Wraps Inc. which is the same company that supplies the vinyl graphics for use on numerous Ford Motor Company including the Ford Fiesta and Ford Mustang.
Unlike other non-factory accessories, it seems that these graphics are not dealer installed. Instead, the graphics can be ordered at the dealership for prices that range from $95 up to $365, and then the dealership will have them installed by a third-party company judging by the wording on http://www.nissangraphics.com. The installation will require an additional cost, and Nissan estimates that most of the graphics can be installed for prices that start from $125 and up to $250 each. To order the graphics, customers visit this website and choose from a variety of designs that cover the cars hood, fascias, roof and/or sides. Customers can then either call the number Nissan has listed on the site or print out the summary of graphics and take it to a local Nissan dealership to have them ordered. Nissan estimates that the orders will take about seven to 10 days to reach the dealership.
All of the graphics are designed to reflect both the shape and personality of the vehicle, so most of the graphics available for the Nissan Cube help to accentuate the car's unique front-end styling or the distinguishable rear fender/pillar area. There are also graphics that go on the front wheel arch area and the front fascia as well as a variety of racing stripes. One of the coolest graphics available on the Cube is the carbon stripe which adds color and a carbon fiber racing stripe to the hood and front fascia. In total, there are 85 different graphics available for the Cube, and each is available in different colors. Throwing in the fact that the graphics can be put on any color, this makes it highly unlikely that any two Cubes will be set up the same.
Like the Cube's unique graphics, those available on the Nissan Juke are also designed to enhance the lines of the vehicle. Unlike the wheel arch graphics designed for the Cube, the coolest graphics which all help to accent the Juke's unique lines are the hockey stripes or the speed stripes that run along the side or the angled hood stripes that are on the hood and accent the front grille. Separate graphics are also available for the Juke's hood and decklid to add either a glossy black or matte black finish. Although there are only 35 graphics offered on the Juke, it would still be hard for any two customers to pick the exact same designs and colors.
All of the graphics will carry the same three-year, 36,000-mile warranty as any other Nissan factory or dealer accessory, but Nissan also says that the graphics are replaceable and expects them to last between three to five years. This is a great way for lease vehicles to be customized at a relatively low cost without being permanent or causing damage during removal.
