Pros: Gas milage and 20 gal fuel tank
Cons: Transmission and noise in cabin
This is my 2nd Nissan -- I previously owned a 1994 Sentra that I put nearly a quarter million miles on with absolutely no problems. The Altima is larger and certainly with more power, but after owning it for almost 4 years I don't think the build quality of Nissan models is a high as it used to be. I do not like the CVT transmission -- its loud and 'down shifts' when going down hills; the car cabin is much noiser than the Sentra especially on less than smooth roads. I have had to replace the fuse in the console 3 or 4 times and last spring had to replace the entire fuse box (over $400). That plus some other little fixes here and there just leaves me with the impression that this car is not up to the usual reliability of Nissan and other Japanese cars I have owned in the past. I have about 63K miles on it (mostly highway) and have been seriously thinking about trading it in on something else -- which is very unusual for me as I tend to keep cars for 10 or more years and don't usually think about another car until I have put at least 250,000 miles on one.Best midsize for the money!
Pros: keyless
Cons: Rear leg room. 2003 had more!
Had a 2003 Altima which was great! Wanted the gadgets on the 2007 (keyless, CVT). Car is extemely comfortable, handles beautifully and gets excellent mileage. Is definitely a good looker compared to much of the competition. Have 50k trouble free miles. I would buy another Altima. The 2.5 engine is more than sufficient. Love my Altima!!!Wish I bought one years ago
Pros: Great pick-up for a 4L engine
Cons: Paint on rear bumper easily scratched
Best car I ever owned - handling, parking, comfort excellent- plus keyless entry is standard.Super Comfortable and Best Nav Ever
Pros: Comfortable, smooth ride and great nav system
Cons: that you have to pay to update the nav system
Our little Altima gets amazing gas mileage, has the CVT transmission which is very smooth, and has the best navigation system ever! My husband has vision problems, and the nav system has alleviated the stress of looking for freeway exits while negociating traffic. I highly recommend this car!Good looks and best in class mileage
