    2005 Nissan Altima - 2.5 S (50 State) (M5)

    Pros: outside style

    Cons: trunk width

Advice: ask for an extended test drive

Test drive was great. Has plenty of power for a 4 cylinder and even enough pick up for merging into traffic. I'm a sales rep and drive about 40,000 miles a year and in only 1 month of winter driving i'm hooked on just how good this car will be for me.

    2005 Nissan Altima - 2.5 S (50 State) (M5)

    Pros: Handling, nice power

Cons: Road noise, radio reception could be better

Advice: The only drawback to this car is that when going over rough pavement you do feel it a little. Other than that its a great car.

Traded in my 03 Camry for the 4 cylinder model. The Camry has a smoother quieter ride. The Altima however is a much better handling car, its really a fun car to drive. It has more interior room than the Camry, its a great looking car, and you get good power out of the 4 cylinder model. I just hope its as well built as Toyota's.

    2005 Nissan Altima - 3.5 SL (50 State) (A5)

    Pros: Sunroof,spoiler and stereo

Cons: Dashboard could be a little 'busier' looking- I'm a 'gadget' freak....

Advice: V-6 auto is the best combo

Amazing acceleration with the 3.5 V6, though the 'fly by wire' throttle has a bit of lag on initial take-off. We have the leather interior- comfy and well appointed. Guage layout is great and user friendly, and the 6 disc Bose stereo is awesome, but lacks a bit of bass. Have been getting around 25MPG around town and right at 30MPG on the highway. Great comfort, ride and performance!

    2005 Nissan Altima - 2.5 S (50 State) (M5)

    Pros: The smooth, quiet ride.

    Cons: Nothing.

Advice: This car is a cross between a family car and sports car. It has style and pep. To me, it is as nice as any BMW or Mercedes Benz at a fraction of the cost. I recommend it to anyone who likes this kind of blend.

My wife and I looked at the Nissan Altima and the Honda Accord. Both cars were comparable in features, handling and price. But I fell in love with the styling of the Altima. We bought the Emerald Green 2.5S and I marvel at its beauty and sophisticated look. I receive many compliments, too. It is the nicest car I have ever owned. It handles very well, is peppy and very comfortable. I have driven on lengthy trips with it; it has adequate room for luggage and I got around 30-33 MPG. I have owned my Altima some five months now and am very pleased. I have had no mechanical problems whatsoever.

    2005 Nissan Altima - 2.5 S (50 State) (M5)

    Pros: The entire car

    Cons: The noisy manual shifting

Advice: Beware of buying the five speed

This car is great, but beware of the manual transmission! After some 10,000 miles or so, the stick shift gets noisy and clunky. The dealer told me that this is characteristic of the Altima. I am waiting to work with a factory rep since they didn't warn me about this in advance. Other than this, I love the car...nice power, very comfortable and user friendly.

    2005 Nissan Altima - 2.5 S (50 State) (M5)

Pros: Exterior and interior designs are great

Cons: Backend suspension unstable at high speeds

Advice: Review multiple websites and make a very informed decision

Backend swayed at high speeds (70 plus) with 5 passengers and luggage. At 70 (3 passengers no luggage) tried to miss a trash can in road and swerved to right and then tried to recenter the car. Vehicle shot into center medium ditch and caused alot of vehicle damage but luckily no injuries. Vehicle in front of me made same manuever with no problems. Reviewed Edmunds.com website and found a warning about the skittish problem at speed and overboosted steering. I wish I had known these facts before my purchase.

    2005 Nissan Altima - 3.5 SL (50 State) (A5)

    Pros: V6, Comfort, Interior

Cons: I do not see anything about this car that I don't like.

Advice: You won't regret your purchase of an Altima as you might w/ the Accord/Camry

I planned to buy an Accord or Camry and drove the Altima just to waste time. However, after I drove it, I was amazed. This car blew the Camry and Accord away. The engine felt 2x stronger than the Camry or Accord: Smoothness was about the same or a little better. This car is extremely comfortble, and the new interior is a work-of-art (beautiful): The 2002 interior was very disappointing. For you Accord & Camry shoppers, this is the car to buy (honestly). Nissan really did an excellent job with this one, as they are with all their vehicles now.
