Pros: Ample leg room
Advice: Buy it!Really liked the roominess when I first got in this vehicle. It drives and handles like a dream. For those who are looking at a Camry or an Accord, don't buy anthing until you drive the Altima. I needed a car with alot of leg room and found that in the Altima. Very happy with this car.
Pros: the surprisingly powerful 2.5 engine
Cons: the euro-taillights
Advice: This is 100 percent better than a Camry!!!I just bought the 2005 Nissan Altima 2005. I was comparing cars for a long time, and decided to purchase this baby. its roomy, got power and looks good. I just wish it would have ABS standard. Thats the only thing bothering me. But all in all its a very comfy car.
Pros: The overall design of the vehicle. It is extremely sporty looking. Stands alone from any other Altima.
Cons: Wish it came with the option to add a navigation system, and also bluetooth technology.
Advice: Don't hesitate to buy one, you won't regret it!!!Can't go wrong with this vehicle. Nissan combined ultimate comfort with ultimate performance. I hope they keep making the SE-R because I will continue to buy them. A Maxima SE-R would be quite appealing also.
Pros: performance and comfort
Cons: build quality
Advice: if quality isn't too important to you, buy this vehicle!bought the car 2 months ago. its very capable performance-wise, and is comfortable for 4 adults, rear seat is a bit tight on shoulder room. the standard features list is extensive, though I wish side airbags would be standard. it looks good and goes fast (comfortably for the passengers), but my only concern is the build quality. there are quite a few uneven gaps and something inside rattles and sqeaks. some plastics are hard and cheap. but otherwise its great.
Pros: Looks / engine power / comfort
Cons: Not being able to afford the 3.5!!!
Advice: Test drive the other cars first, then try the Altima - it'll blow you away!I spent over two years researching sports cars before I purchased by 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX in the fall of 1996. Nothing can compare to the thrill of that ride. Had to sell it when I got married. Now that I am a 'family man' I wanted something comfortable, stylish, and sporty. Looked at the Camry (not stylish,or sporty), Passat (not comfortable or sporty) and the Mazda 6 (not comfy - no room!) I fell in love with the Altima 3.5S, but could not afford it. The 2.5S still has a lot of pep though - more than any of the other cars I drove. It's been great so far.
Cons: Running the A/C in order to keep windows from fogging up
Advice: noneThe Altima is our first new import, from dedicated GM buying over 30 years. The only problem to date was a water leak in the sun roof. Surprised us with a cascade of water into the cabin. The dealer could not find the source after nearly two weeks of shop time. So we will see when the rains return in the fall. The windshield fogs up unless the AC is on. It seems to prefer that feature running all the time.
Cons: quality of the car...stays in the shop
Advice: don't buy this vehicle if you don't want to stay in the service departmentI am truly sorry that I purchased this vehicle. The car has been in the shop more than at my home in the last few months.
