Getting firsthand information from an actual car owner is one sure way to get an idea of car performance once it leaves the lot. Autobytel features real consumer reviews that give the unbiased experience of a car.
Pros: I feel REALLY SAFE in it!
Cons: There is very very little interior storage space - places to stash my stuff!
Advice: Enjoy it !Very comfortable, as long as you're in the front seats! Not a lot of rear leg room, although this is the largest of the Volvo sedans. My husband is 6'5' tall, so we consider this a 'three-seater vehicle.' Peppy and responsive, as long as you factor in the typical turbo-lag from a full stop. Mine has 3,000 miles on it, and I'm averaging 20 mph around town.
Cons: No compass
Advice: This car has been a delight to drive.I own an S60 - 2.5T. I decided on the Volvo for safety reasons. I bought my car with 3 miles on it. I'm about to trade it in with 47,200 miles. In almost 4 years I've had the car to the dealer ONCE for non-scheduled service, and that was to change a headlight, free of charge. The car has been an amazing surprise to me coming from a V8 Lincoln, with loads of power. I am looking at purchasing a 2006 AWD Volvo. For the money it's hard to compare.
Pros: Hard top
Cons: Brake pedal too close to gas pedal
Advice: wait for mid 2007 u may be able to get a better deal $$$$$WOW
Pros: The GPS navigation system.
Cons: Placement of the cruise control on the steering wheel--I keep inadvertently hitting it and turning it off.
Advice: If you hate SUV's as I do, buy this car. You will be very happy with it.As a confirmed lover of station wagons, yet finding the Dodge Magnum slightly too much for my wife, we settled on the Volvo XC70, finally giving our 1995 Buick Roadmaster a rest. Years ago we owned a Volvo sedan and wagon, and were happy with them--not ecstatic, but happy. The XC70 fills that role well--it is well-made, quiet, responsive, safe, and all that Volvos are reputed to be. It is head-and-shoulders above the quality of the old Buick, I am sad to say, but lacks the excitement--I was in love with the Buick, with all the excitement of old Detroit iron, but can never be as excited with the Volvo. Dependable, safe, economical, well-made--yes to the Volvo. I am glad we have it, and look forward to years of motoring comfort. But I will always fondly and wistfully remember our old Roadmaster....
Pros: THE LOOK
Cons: I Just broke the cup holder, CHEAP CITY
Advice: Don't buy the first model year, it take Volvo 3-4 years to get their vehicles to run like a HondaAs a former S80 2000 T6 owner, 16 times in the shop, all major parts replaced, ETM nightmare and stalled on the freeway three times, You are probably wondering why I even bothered to buy this car again. BUT, I drive 25k miles per year, its a very comfortable car and I feel safe in it. It did help alot the dealer gave me 10k off the sticker price otherwise it was a Honda Accord. Anyway, I'm happy with it, definitely not as powerful, but I'm happy to get rid of the 2000 beast I traded in. My odometer is at 1k and I hope to make it to its first servicing without it breaking down or stalling on the freeway. Volvo of Pleasanton, CA ROCKS. Never mind all the mechanics drive Nissan and Hondas. :)
Pros: Self dimming mirror
Cons: lights dim when they wash
Advice: Drive it you'll like itOnce again, I am more than pleased with the quality, comfort and reliability of teh Volvo Line. I find I must go back to these cars, time and time again. Having a number of physical problems and having to drive great lenghts at times (10-12 hours) no other car can compare. The seats and positioning is outstanding. HAving rented all different cars, all sizes and shapes, nothing compares. I'm getting 19 mpg in mixed driving and using mid grade with no problems. Would buy another in a heartbeat. ALthough this one is an automatic, I miss a stick shift, even in this size car! I still have my trusty 1999 S-70 and love the manual as well.
Cons: No way to open trunk from inside vehicle
Advice: Go Buy It!!!Drove many cars, from SUV's to Mid-Size Sedans, HANDS DOWN THE V50 AWD is one of if not the best Sport Wagons on the market today!! This T5 engine is responsive and fast as you want it to be!! This isn't momma's old grocery getter!! The 2.4 engine is nowhere near the T5, and AWD just makes it that much more practical for not a big jump in price. Inside, very roomy, very modern, and the perfect family vehicle for one with a couple little ones. I am 6'2' and very comfortable anywhere in the car, look no longer, if you are looking for the perfect family car that is plenty big yet awesome gas milage, go pick up a T5 and hang on...cause it's plenty quick!
