    2005 Volvo V50 - 2.4i A FWD

    Pros: Heated Seats

Cons: The minimal amount of leg room in the back seats

Advice: be sure to ask the dealer policy for software downloads

This vehicle looks and drives GREAT! for a 2.4 liter it has exceptional performance...BUT, I have had numerous different electrical issues. The dealership, who has been great, says when something electrical stops working, a software download is needed. Seems odd but in the one year I have had the vehicle I have had six trips to the dealership for electrical components not working. I would buy another Volvo as they are great, but this one just has too many issues for me.

    2005 Volvo S60 - 2.5T A FWD

    Pros: Sport kits

    Cons: nothing

    Advice: never buy this model

I have experiance a noises & high Vibrations coming from the car (from the breaking system), which look like is caused from an engineering faults in designing or making the gap between the Break disk and Break pads wider than what is should be. this issue been expericance since the first week of owning the car, and the local dealer workshop in the city i'm in now keep experimenting on the breaking system (changes many thing like, break disk, pads, model of break pads, lequid,...etc) and nothing took the sound off. Moreover, when you drive the car for long time, you will start to hear noises coming from the steering when you turn it, also it's happen that the car start to shack in the morning when first started or turnned on, and its went off after it self after that.

    2007 Volvo XC70 - Base

    Pros: Ride comfort

Cons: Engine noise during rapid acceleration

Advice: If you can afford all the extras, get them!!

I purchased a 2007 XC70 with most of the options on it, it is AWESOME!! It is singularly the most comfortable ride I've ever experienced in a vehicle. (Noticeably better than in the XC90, too rigid) Everyone I've had in the car agrees. The interior equipment is beautifully built and easy to use although reading your owners manual is a must. Acceleration, even on to the German Autobahn, is quick and easy. My gas mileage is not stellar but I am driving at speeds much faster than in the US. The ride, after acceleration, is quiet. Our conversation and stereo listening is easy without excessive volume. I easily fit four large adults comfortably although; a third adult in the backseat is a bit cramped. Recommend the leather, climate package, the DVD system, and the navigation. All these features make for a fun and easy travel experience.

    2006 Volvo S80 - FWD

    Pros: Front Drivers Seat

Cons: Overall quality of interior specs

Advice: Check EVERYTHING out before you buy. Look at Audi.

The overall drive of the vehicle is smooth, however, it sometimes lags when pushed to access the freeway onramp. Overall comfort is just OKAY. The interior does lack internal storage space and the cupholders are not placed conveniently. The plastic around the locks keep coming loose and the moonroof leaks when I take it through the automatic carwash. For me, its the little things that take away from the overall satisfaction. Not the quality I expected for the price.

    2007 Volvo C70 - Base

Pros: Hard Top Roof that folds

Cons: Everything is perfect, perhaps slightly underpowered

    Advice: Buy it

I recently purchased a 2007 C70, it is the real deal in every way!!! My previous C70 was not so perfect, I bought my 2004 C70 new in March of 2004. I loved, and still do love my Car. As time has gone on, I have realized a few flaws that must, and apparently have been addressed. First of all, the Shake and lack of rigidity for such an expensive car is poor. This car was not very well planned out, I have the larger wheels which rub against the wheel wells, I have had trouble with the steering, and in the last two years when I start the car, it seems to rev and then stal immediately, I have to wait 10 seconds and start again, this second try usually works, but again, Russian Roulette with a car of this stature is just not appropriate. Cowl shake is also poor, and I am not that happy with the handling. With all of this being said, I love the car on a whole, it has been fairly reliable, and the workmanship is unmistakable, I find the comfort incredible, as well as the appearance. Last week I went into Volvo for service and looked for a second time at the new 2007 C70, I fell in love and soon bought the newer, more rigid, and 10X better version. After the test drive, I was sold...the differences are unreal, I would prefer this new C70 over ANY german counterpart, and I have to reccomend the same to any C70 owner.

    2005 Volvo XC90 - T6 SR AWD

Pros: Ride quality and power, when it runs.

Cons: No reliability, poor interior ergonomics

    Advice: stay away

The Volvo dealer would not even buy our fully loaded 2005 XC90 T6, that is what a piece of junk the XC90s are and Volvo knows it! We have 6 cars including Ferraris, Hondas, Jeeps, Pontiacs. Volvo buyer beware, the only thing good about the XC90 is the ride quality. However ride quality does not matter when the driveshaft fails(twice), the left front strut fails(twice), tires wore out at 20k miles, and the left front axel seal failed which leaked all the oil out. Not to mention little things like the defroster barely works(and also failed) and the seat heaters mysteriously turn on. Then there are the interior ergonometric issues - try taking a family to McDonalds, there is no place to put stuff. I emailed Volvo a 65 item list, and suggested they require their engineers to drive a Toyota or Honda for 6 months of ergonometric research before starting the next interior redesign. We put up with the XC90(for 35,000 miles and 18mo), the final straw was when we were leaving for a family vacation and the axel seal failed – leaving us stranded on the freeway. I would not trust this car any farther than I could throw it. After we were stranded, my wife and I went out the next day and purchased a Toyota Sequoia. We are now in HEAVEN – everything works, nothing breaks.
