Pros: the leaking moonroof cause you always got a free shower
Cons: the color
Advice: i pray that you will ride a bike before you drive this carthis car began to fall apart about a month after we got it and it began a cycle of one thing after another some how i was dumb when the dealer wanted us to trade it in on a 2005 saying that 2004 was just a bad year well how wrong was he cause the 05 was way worse then the 04 a my husband just sold it for what we could get out of it about a 1/4th of what we paid for the thing
Pros: tire pressure
Cons: lot of lag before it starts pick up the speed
Advice: don't buyIt was all great when I bought it. The catch is the dealer, no one can repair the VW other than a dealer. The car is so over enginnered you will see lights come on for wranings and every light need to be diagnozed, it is atleast 100 dollars just to diagnose. It is not worth it. It is only 8000 miles already spend 100 dollars for a diagnosis and 800 dollars on fixing the stupid enginnering.. Learn from the Japanese, buy a honda or toyota
Cons: 16 in wheels
Advice: buy it it's a great car for the price !i fell in love the moment i drove it.
Pros: Low pressure tire warning
Cons: No homelink
Advice: Give it a try. You'll be surprisedI bought my Passat new in January, 2006. Frankly, I was surprised at the 'get up and go' this car has. The Passat has it all: roomy passanger cabin, large trunk,up to date mechanical features. Overall, a great car for the money.
Pros: Push To Start Inginition
Cons: No Ipod jack.
Advice: We have a 2005.5 Audi A4, pre lux carwith out the pre lux price.Purchased a 2.0T model with Option #1. Plenty of power, nice look, absolute head turner on the freeway.
Pros: Large push-emblem opening the rear trunk, no visible key-holes, side-window & rear shades, car battery in the rear trunk (V6 only), multi-function heated side mirrors.
Cons: Cumbersome Push-key ignition.
Advice: You get a lot more car with the V6 model ... with little sacrifice in fuel economy.Excellent ride and handling dynamics. The steering feels precise and tight with excellent feedback at all speeds. The electronic controls & diagnostics that are packed in the 3.6L Passat are on par with those you find in a 5-series BMW or an E-class Mercedes, both of which cost about twice as much! The same can be said of safety features. You begin to truly appreciate the car's road manners when you get passed ~80 MPH. At 110 MPH the ride is still smooth and controlled. With the stock 17” P235/45R low-profile tires, street bumps and imperfections are naturally felt more. Personally, I would not mind trading some cornering control with the ride comfort that a set of 17” P235/55R can typically offer. Yes, the electronic transmission makes the car feel a bit lethargic for a second from stand still position. But this is a built-in element of the adaptive transmission’s program to give you excellent city fuel economy. If you really want to take off and reach 60 MPH in 6.7 Sec, just press the gas pedal all the way down instantly to snap the transmission into its “Sport” program. That’s all there is to it!
Pros: 2.0 turbo power and gas mileage
Cons: radio sound switches erratically
Advice: For the class of vehicleAs a pro Japanese car owner for years I thought that I would give the VW a shot. Driving a Toyota Camry for 11 years 1995 Camry XLE this car put a lot of cars even now to shame. I test drove the Passat, I was quite pleased I went for the 2.0 because I felt that power was there and the great gas mileage. (approx. 700km per tank) Overall I am happy, the engine noise is a little louder than the camry but I believe it is VW trademark to have that diesel growl like sound. The radio does get annoying when listening to a song and the EQ just goes out of whack. The seating doesnt have an adjusting for tilt on seating surface, it is very hard to find that perfect seating position, I owned the Passat now for 2 months and I am still finding myself playing with seating adjustments. These are petty dislikes though overall I am pleased and this vehicle looks smart.
