great car
Pros: precise steering, comfortalble driving, good braking
Cons: costly repairs, tie rod, replacing lights, plastic cover on headlights clouded up
lots of recalls. costly repairs that I never had on past cars I owned with much more mileage on them and much olderI found my car
Pros: electric parking brake
Cons: nothing
For the past 20 years I have wanted a smaller wagon that gave good mileage and had hauling capaabilities. Saw a passat wagon(2007)and liked it enough to trade in my Accord. The car has exceeded my hopes, solid, handles perfectly and great overall comfort.Perfect Sedan both local and highway
Before purchasing the Passat we researched and test drove 6 Sedans narrowing choice to TSX, Passat and Sonata. Price and price for quality, Leather (or Leatherette), sun roof, safety, and BlueTooth critical. Dollar for dollar Passat wins, A Turbo 4 performs very well, MPH averaging almost 28!, slight hesitation on take off at times, other cars did not drive as percise or as in the TSX back seat too small....other features than those listed were just extras. The final sale point was 0.0% financing. We are doing the same for a small/med size SUV in the fall.Great vehicle
Pros: Driving
Cons: Changing cv joint
Just needs a cv joint changedI'll drive it till the wheels fall off!!
Pros: That is a hard one to isolate! There are too many great features to pick one.
Cons: The FM radio. Goes in and out of bass. The satelite radio works great.
Although I had a few minor problems and one BIG problem (all covered under warranty) (new engine at 31K miles) This car has everything I was looking for in a delight to drive vehicle. Power, fantastic handling, comfort, amenities, and great gas mileage to boot (33+ Hywy @ 74mph cruise control). I have the Passat 3.6 Luxury. 280 HP provides plenty of performance, the HiPerf tires are a little pricey, but they do what they are supposed to in a performance handling car! It is an absolute delight to drive this car - across town or on a long trip. The auto trans has options too: Manual shift, Sport shift or reg. auto-trans.Pros: The way it rides and feels.
Cons: Mechanical issues when they happen.
I've gotten my money's worth!!Pros: Great driving performance with very good gas mileage.
Cons: The FM radio - changes bass and treble tone levels on its own.
Advice: Don't test drive it unless you can afford to buy it - you WILL wan to buy it!
This is the best car I've ever owned! Luxury, Sport handling, fantastic power, very good gas mileage (33-34 on Freeway @ 74mph.) Talk about a 'looker' too! Bought it with 6900 miles on it; had some problems in the beginning, but all fixed under warranty and all is well now. I'll drive this car until the wheels fall off!!! A friend of mine also has the same car but his is a AWD 4-Motion Sport Edition; mine is a Luxury. He and his wife feel the same way I do about the Passat 3.6.
