Love the Car, Hate the problems
Pros: Love the power and handling
Cons: Over sensitive check engine light and a little noisyI bought my Jetta new in April 2006, after 3 weeks I had to go back to the dealer because the bolts attaching the engine to the block had snapped off. That should have been my signal to return it. I have had the car in the shop about 18 times since then with several different issues. Check engine light is way too sensitive and nothing is a simple fix.
best new car
Pros: fuel mileage - performance
Cons: could use another 1 or 2 inch of ground clearance with the front valenceSportwagon TDI 6speed auto - out of the box - better than rated fuel mileage - plenty of 'zip' to get you onto the highway and keep you there. Typical european - firm ride - predictable steering and braking. Good fit and finish, convienient controlls. rides like a much larger car.
Cons: allDon't make the same mistake i did, vw suck.
Pros: Overall performance on open highway.
Cons: Getting in & out of driver's seat.VW Jetta TDI - Diesel My wife bought it against my opinion. Boy, was I ever wrong! This is one sweet auto - performs like a sports car, very comfortable ride. 39 to 52 mpg! Over 500 miles to a tank.
Pros: Diesel Power, fuel mileage, handling, large trunk.
Cons: Uncomfortable seats, road noise, stiff ride.Purchased 2009 Jetta TDI. Tried to get one with Navigation, but ended up having an aftermarket nav installed. Would not do that again. Overall the jetta has very good handling, easy to get around and a huge trunk that easily carries 4 golf bags.
2009 vw jetta tdi
Pros: the diesel engine
Cons: the remot key i am opening the trunk with out knowing itI thank it is a great car my low mpg was 36mpg my high has been 41mpg i only have 6000miles on it . I thank 10000miles is to long to between oil changes 5000 miles would be better
Pros: Smooth and quiet driving sedan
Cons: headlights not on stalk
Advice: shop around I experienced $2Shopped hard for this car. Looked at Civic LX, Mazda 3, Ford Fusion. Toyota Carolla. Jetta interior superior to all. Performace wise maybe 2nd to Mazda in accelaration, but Jetta has smoothest driving and handling. Tiptronic transmission is a blast! but will cost you mpg. I get about 24 mpg doing mostly city driving over first 3,000 miles. Love the feel and handling. Love the vtex seats.
