2011 Toyota RAV4 - Base (A4) 4x4
The 2011 Rav 4 is fairly good in most areas, but exciting in none. I am critical of three areas: 1. The paint has scratches since new. 2. The back hatch opens horizontally meaning I have to keep garage door open to unload packages. In addition, my toddler would have been seriously injured when the hatch blew shut-I suffered a back injury in saving her and getting hit by the hatch. 3. The protruding rear mounted tire is unsightly and interferes with rear view and reduces trade in.

2012 Toyota RAV4 - Base (A4) 4x4
Great sporty replacement for my 4Runner Lmtd V6. But I kept my 4Runner with 220k on it, I still love this Rav4. The 4 cyl has a lot of power. And there is lots of space. I only average 20mpg. It's awesome around town and on the freeway.

2007 Toyota RAV4
Love this car
Pros: Handling and ease of reconfiguring storage/seating area.
Cons: The way the rear door opens to the side and the poor lighting in the cargo area.
My RAV 4 rides very well, esp on the highway when traveling. It handles well even when next to huge 18 wheelers. It is very convenient to change the seating configuration to allow for more storage both from the rear of the vehicle and from the back doors. I love the firm cargo net which helps to keep stored items from entering the passenger area when stopping unexpectedly. I had one incident in the first year when the car wouldn't start. It was towed to the dealer, checked out. No cause was found and it has happened since. The only other complaint I have is that the light for the rear cargo area is on the door and when you are trying to arrange the items in the cargo area at night your body blocks the light. I would also like a hatch door that goes straight up rather than swing open from the side. But I would definitely buy this car again.- Recommend this vehicle to a friend? Yes
