practical transportation
Pros: the versatility of the seating
Cons: the appearance
It's a minivan. That says it all. Not sexy, not cool, not a head turner but the most practical mode of transportation around. Its a people mover able to transport 8 at a time or a pickup substitute able to haul incredible loads of cargo thanks to its foldable and removable seating system. I could not do without it so practical trumps cool in this case, at least for me. Loving it every day.- Recommend this vehicle to a friend? Yes

1998 Toyota Sienna - reliable transportation
Pros: drive and reverse
Cons: the arm rest on the driver's seat won't stay up anymore
I can count on this car to get me from a to b. Until this year (new window motor and sling door repair) It has cost me very little in repairs - maybe $300/yr beyond oil changes and tires- Recommend this vehicle to a friend? Yes

2004 Toyota Sienna
Starting to cost us, Toyota Sienna
Pros: radio controlls on steering wheel
Cons: problems
We have an 04 Sienna with 110K on it. It is starting to show a few signs of wear although we have performed all recomended maintance. We are looking at a new steering rack as ours is leaking $1450(labour inc), also our driver door has a broken mecanism in it so makes a horrible noise when you open and close it. I guess there was a silent recall on this, but our vehicle was to old to cover the entire thing so Toyota has supplied us with the door and we have to cover the rest $850. Also our sliding passenger door has been working intermittently for about 1 yr now. I just turn it off and use it manually as i can only imagine what the would set us back. Other than that we have not had any major issues (touch wood), but i feel for a vehicle of its age the steering rack should still be good, especially when you try to buy a decent vehicle. (the prices I have written are all in Can $)- Recommend this vehicle to a friend? No

2008 Toyota Sienna - Limited FWD
Pros: the ride comfort
Cons: Please note Toyota will not let you program the NAV system while driving faster then 3 MPH! It's very frustrating and I wish Toyota would allow a buyer to override the system.
Advice: If your disission comes down to the Sienna and another Make and you are looking for the NAVI feature, I would highly consider the other make before buying the Sienna. If I would have taken the time to play with the NAVI, I wouldn't of bought the car.
The Van rides extremely comfortable and smooth. We tested the ride against both the Honda and Nissan. My wife liked the 'Car' like feel of the Sienna better. -
2004 Toyota Sienna - LE FWD
Pros: The quiet drive
Cons: Sliding doors freeze all winter long. Can't use them AT ALL
Advice: Don't buy one if you live in cold weather
We like our toyoyta sienna in warm weather but it is almost worthless to us in the cold weather. We live in Wisconsin and cannot use the sliding doors when it is cold. They freeze shut and it is a safety issue. You cannot open the doors from the outside or inside so you cannot get your kids out if in an accident. Toyota won't help us and told us it was a design flaw. We will never buy another one.
