great car, nice on the road
Pros: Easy driving
Cons: i added front door locks, it came with none
Easy to drive, I loved it from the beginning,A Rare Jewel
Pros: rear decklid wing
Cons: No recaro seats for the 07 model only
I own a Saturn Ion Redline, supercharged. This is the most fun car I have ever owned! It's great on gas with a 4 cylinder, but can really go when you step on it with about 285 HP. I have done some mods to it, and being made of 'plastic' its a light car so together that equals one fun car to drive!! Its also a rare car with only 6000 produced over a 4 year period. I actually own 2 of them! I get alot of attention in it, mostly 'That's a SATURN??????'Pros: Dent-resistant body paneling
Cons: Odor coming from vents
Advice: Buy a Honda
I purchased a 2007 Ion 2 brand new. I like the way it handles and find it comfortable to drive because I am a petite woman. But overall I regret my purchase because I've had too many service appointments for a new vehicle. The brakes and two tires have been replaced, a power window came off the track, the dash has been taken apart due to rattling, the fan motor makes a ticking sound that they say cannot be replaced, and now I have a strange odor coming from the vents; I've been told that it is the HEPA filter. I owned a Saturn before, but this one is not good.Pros: Quiet and comfortable ride
Cons: The size
Advice: Drive one for yourself.Don't let articles like the one here on Auto Bytel discourage you. Doesn't even seem close to the car that I actually own and live with every day.
Best kept secret in the industry. The reviewers love to hate it, but it's been a fault free, quiet economical car since day 1.The ride alone is worth the price of admission: smooth and comfortable. Just returned from a road trip: LA to Tucson, to Salt Lake City back to LA, hit all conditions incl. freezing and snow and ran it like I stole it and it still returned 35-37 mpg, with an automatic. This one will be running long after the auto scribes who hated it have retired. Get one now, production stops Mar. 27, 2007Pros: N/a
Cons: Quality!
Advice: It's nice
I loved my 2003 Ion. Until 3 days ago, when we were rear-ended in a crash. We were stopped, the car that hit us was going less than 15 mph. That low-impact crash put over $4k in damages and the car's FRAME was crunched. What's worse: I had my 18 mo. old son in the back seat. Currently seeking settlement from Saturn for the safety of this vehicle. The only thing between the cheap plastic body and the frame of my car was BLACK STYROFOAM. Sure, it's a nice ride. But had we been hit from the front or side, one of us would not be alive.Pros: quad coupe doors
Cons: nothing.
Advice: Buy one of the best, last, dent- free made in USA cars ever.
2100 miles in 2 months. No problems so far. Really smooth and good handling with enhanced performance package and 2.4 liter engine. Transmission is smooth and well matched to engine. Love the XM radio and OnStar with turn by turn directions. Very easy to get the little girl in and out of the backseat with the quad coupe doors.Pros: stereo - 6 disc CD changer
Cons: Everything else. Horrible to drive!
Advice: Dont get a 2004! 2003 was great, but whatever improvements they tried to make went extremely wrong!
Horrible. Hits every little bump like its a huge pothole! Back end slides behind you. Feels very unsafe on highway and very loud!
