    2002 Mercury Mountaineer - AWD

Pros: All the new additions from the 2000

    Cons: Can't say

Advice: You will not be sorry

This is a car in an SUV!! It is the most comfortable car I have ever driven. This is my second time around and they say things get better with age, totally on this vehicle, but you must get the V8. This is a peppy car and the V6 is not peppy enough. They did an aweome job on this one!!

    2003 Mercury Mountaineer - 4.6L V8 Luxury (315A) AWD

    Pros: power/engine

    Cons: fit on some pieces

Advice: It beats the overpriced Explorer!

I bought the 4.6 liter option and it was well worth the extra $$. I like the overall handling, ergonomics took a while to get used to, smooth ride, and ability to haul alot of stuff or people. You get alot for your money.

2003 Mercury Grand Marquis - LS Premium (200B)

    Pros: roominess

Cons: placement of the seat controls

    Advice: check for engine noise

After driving the car for a week a noise developed in the engine. Took it back to the dealer who ran tests on it and found everything to be normal...except they hear the noise but have no idea what is wrong. They called Ford and apparently they are aware there is a problem with the engine. Ford is sending a new engine to be installed. There is a problem with one piston, 3 out of 4 2003 Grand Marquis on the lot are making the same noise.

    2003 Mercury Marauder - Base

Pros: Interior is very comfortable and quiet

Cons: Heated seat option was not available

Advice: Looking for power, looks, and something different, here it is.

I bought this car w/o a test drive. I had owned a 2000 Monte Carlo SS and was looking for something with a little more power. This car fits the bill. The interior is done nicely and it is very comfortable. There were several minor instances of something not fitting right, which I thought should have been caught by quality control. This car does bring back the memory of the fast lane but gets decent mileage if you keep your foot off the floor (22MPG). The car could have had some more distinctive badging identifying it as a Marauder. I think the Gods head on the grill instead of the Mercury emblem would fit as well as something on the side but overall it gets plenty of compliments. The negative ones state it looks too much like an undercover police car. Pickup is smooth and the car is very quiet unless you are stepping on the gas. Overall if it holds its value well it should be a car to own.
