Pros: automatic headlights
Cons: automatic aircondtioning
Advice: LS packages is worth the extra money over the GS modelna
Pros: the whole car
Advice: buy onea all around great car
Cons: lack of a wheel locks is ridiculous...
Advice: Buy the car without the cargo organizer option and make the dealer throw it and the wheel locks in for free.I purchased this car cause after driving oversized stationwagons (read suvs and minivans). I wanted something that looked a lot more ominous. I also got tired of the relative boat rides u get with the aforementiond vehicles. I wanted something like my 97 sho but bigger since my sons are 6 ft teenagers now. I also wanted to actually move when I hit the gas. This vehicle has it all in spades. I am totally happy with the control and power. It gets the looks. It sounds like a car should. It has all the ammenities. The stereo rocks. Dont let the rear wheel drive scare ya it handles snow great. Its a fun car sums it up real well. ; ) Wont kill your insurance rate like a mustang.
Pros: Third row seating and roof vents
Cons: The access to the third row seating
Advice: It's worth every pennyI just purchased an early lease returned 2002 AWD Mountaineer. It was pretty hard for me to give up my Volvo, but the confort and handle of this SUV si awesome. The V6 provides more than enough power, and the gas consumtion is equivalent to the gas used in my Volvo 940 Turbo.
Pros: The Size, Lots of room
Cons: Not a 350 V8, They are trying to really punch out the 4.6 V8
Advice: Do your home work, And hunt for a good deal, They can be foundI bought this car after some incentives were offered and the dealer stopped treating it like it was gold. I even got a fair deal, 2500.00 back of MSRP. It is a nice car fairly well built, But it is not an Impala SS, I had one and I miss it. This is the next Best Thing
Pros: Fast and Fun to Drive!
Cons: Driver's seat is not comfortable for larger people.
Advice: Get the 6 disc CD Changer. The cougar accelerates and handles beautifully. The $3,000 rebate makes it a bargain relative to cars in it's class. There is also so much standard equipment that you expect to pay extra for. As long as you don't have to sit in the back seat, it's a great car.
Cons: Can't say
Advice: Check the rubber-Merc' has gone to SUV tires as production continued.32,000 miles in the first year of ownership...does what's asked of it and looks good while doing it. Easy to keep clean, great long-distance runner yet easy to handle in urban settings. Great sound system, ample power from the new 4.6 with expected fuel consumption. This one was put together correctly. Original Goodyear passenger type tires were replaced with Michelin SUV rubber which corrected the earlier problems of a rough and uncertain handling ride. Dealership tries hard to please. This one is a keeper!
