Pros: Engine
Cons: Navigation
Nice vehicle but gas hungry2011 LR4 HSE LUX IS AWESOME
Pros: THE ENTIRE VEHICLE
Cons: THE NAVIGATION- IT IS A BIT COMPLICATED
I HAVE OWNED THE 2011 LR4 HSE LUX FOR 5 MONTHS. IT NOW HAS APPROX 5K MILES NOW ON IT. IT DRIVES LIKE A DREAM, SUPERIOR VIEW, RIDE, COMFORT, HANDLING AND POWER. THE NAVIGATION IS A BIT TEDIOUS, BUT WORKS FINE, IT LACKS SMALL STORAGE COMPARTMENTS, BUT EXCELS AT HAULING AND SPACE. YOU CAN BUY A LARGER SUV, A BETTER THOUGHT OUT SUV, BUT THE LR4 IS THE ULTIMATE IN SOPHISTICATION, COMFORT, POWER, ATTENTION GETTER, FAMILY VEHICLE FUN, AND YOU CAN DRIVE IT TO THE ART MUSEAM OR TO HOME DEPOT. THE SOUND SYSTEM IS INCREDIBLE, ADULTS AND KIDS LOVE TO SHOW IT OFF AND RIDE IN ITAmazing Vehicle
Pros: Various terraine capabilities
Cons: Gas Mileage
This is a real sport utility vehicle! Not a poser.Great Performance
Pros: drivetrain
Cons: quirky electronic display
Leased this vehicle for my wife. A bit tight on the interior and cargo space, but exceptional performance with the 375 hp V8 (apparently shared with the Jags). Dash display was a bit quirky at the start (kept switching to Celcius and Killometers every time car started -- dealer suggested a loose wire to battery) -- not unusual for a british car. Not a mommy mobile...good value - best 4x4 with comfort
Pros: off road capability coupled with great street habits
Cons: fuel economy
The LR4 is a very quiet and capable SUV - unbeatable in 4x4 use. The variable air suspension works great and the sound proofing is superior to other makes I have owned. It is a 'thirsty' car but then it is heavy, well built and full of electronics. I like the design of the rear seats allowing a totally flat hauling surface when folded. The user interface with the Nav, Audio etc. units takes a while getting used to, but once familiar with it works well. The car is well built, and Quality Control seems to have improved. My only wish would be a Diesel engine instead of the thirsty Jaguar V8 engine.Pros: Looks Cool
Cons: Everything else
Advice: If you're an idiot
A complete piece of 'S'. I've owned mine for one year, it's been in the shop 5, count 'em, 5 times. The work never gets done quick, usually takes a couple of days and nothing is covered under warranty. After 8,000 miles the brakes needed replacing for $750. And let's not forget that from the minute you drive your new Supercharged Range Rover Sport off of the lot your brakes squeek. Talk about embarrasing! I've got clients in my brand new $75,000 Range Rover and the brakes are squeeking all the time?!? It's been in the shop because of shocks stablizing problems, a tire gauge malfunction, a broken a/c vent, and the leather was peeling off of the steering wheel. Buyer Beware!!!Pros: Safety, weight of vehicle, luxury, capability
Cons: jealous neighbors
Advice: Buy one and actually use it offroad
I have owned several Land Rovers over the past ten years. Regardless of all the whining I hear about the reliability of Land Rover I continued to purchase them because I have had little to no issues with Land Rovers. I have owned a 00 Discovery, 01 Discovery 2 2004 Discoveries, 2 94 Defenders, 06 Range Rover Sport, 06 Range Rover. They have all been reliable vehicles with some minor issues such as sensitive check engine and tire pressure monitor lights and an oil leak that was repaired on the first visit and covered under warranty. The service dept. at my local dealer has been fantastic!! I couldn't be happier with my L.R. experiences and will continue to purchase them. The ride, the quality, the exclusivity of owning such a low production vehicle will keep me coming back.
