Getting firsthand information from an actual car owner is one sure way to get an idea of car performance once it leaves the lot. Autobytel features real consumer reviews that give the unbiased experience of a car.
This car is great in the city and on the highway. It is pretty quiet and holds up well to crosswinds (50 mph winds). Fuel economy could be a bit better. Do average 30 MPG for combined city/highway driving.
Think twice before buying
Pros: Its a tie between the slipping transmission and the customer friendly service department
Cons: Everything
I've got less than 10K miles on this piece of Korean krap, and the transmission slips, it's full of rattles and squeaks, and the service department at my local dealership can't duplicate any of the problems, so therefor they can't fix any of the problems.KIA FORTE LX
Pros: style
Cons: NA
Great carbest bang for your buck
Pros: The exterior styling
Cons: the cheap floor covering
After looking at A Mazda 3s Gran Sport, Corolla XRS and Elantra SE the Forte had the most interior room, I think the best exterior styling, most horsepower in the group. It has a sport suspension huge brakes and it a blast to drive. It has the most standard equipment of all the vehicles I looked at. It also has a great Warranty. The craftsmenship was the best of the bunch. The gaps in sheetmetal and finish were superb. The interior was laid out the best with steering wheel controls and bluetooth standard.Pros: you can play mp3 from regular flash-drive( no i-pod neded)
Cons: air noise, transmission
Advice: do not buy, very bad costumer service
Hi my name is Artem and I'm a KIA owner, I'm living upstate NY and I'm disappointed with my car. I don't know where to start. 1st air noise from all 4 doors. 2nd impossible stop car on snow. 3rd bad transmission shifting (I have manual) randomly stick shift go between gears and some tines freezes on neutral. Very unsafe!!! as far as I know am not only one who have same issue with KIA forte .Pros: Bluetooth
Cons: none. LOVE the car
Advice: buy the Forte
I bought a 2010 Toyota Corolla back in September, and have since started working at a Kia Dealership. Once i started driving the Forte for a few weeks, seeing the features it had in both safety and convenience, i knew i had to have one. My dealership bought out my lease on my Corolla, and cut me a huge deal on the Forte. I've had the car for two days now and am very satisfied. Best vehicle in its class, hands down.Pros: The fuel economy package
Cons: The suspension.
Advice: Wait before buying until the Gov't crash tests it to see it's safety ratings. Some Kia's (except Optima) have had problems with side impact and offset crash test as shown in consumer reports april issues.
My initial impression is that it is of good quality and may be Kia's best vehicle yet - It's certainly the best looking! With it's array of class leading safety and electronic features, I believe it is a step ahead of the competition. My test drive was stable and fairly quiet, but over bumps the car buckled left and right showing some instability in the suspension. It also showed a a reluctance of passing power on the expressway to my surprise. My only question is what will be the reliability? How long will the car last after 100,000 miles? And crash test results on the model it replaces, The Spectra, were marginal in some areas, what will this one be?
