Cons: Leather seats are unavailable
Advice: Great lease deals available through Honda financingSmooth, high quality, actually a little sophisticated in feel. More European than Japnaese, perhaps due to the fact that it was developed primarily for the European market and is assembeld in the UK. Despite being the largest Civic engine at 2.0 liters, torque is weak at lower rpm's, but the engine revs so smoothly that you don't mind getting into the accelerator to make it move out smartly. Interior material quality better than that of Civic EX, etc. Hatch is great. Not sure why you see so few on the rode, but the relative obscurity / exclusivity is a plus that you can't get in most any other Honda model.
Pros: the seats, they are the only highlight of the car
Cons: the rest of the car
Advice: DONT BUY THIS CAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!The test drive was not all that bad because you think that once the car is broken in it will run a little better...WRONG! Its got weak power, low red line for a Honda, VTEC that kicks in at 3K RPMs, VTEC that cant be felt when it does kick in, the list goes on and on. Honda did a poor job with this one.
Pros: It's a Civic!!! It has quite a reputation to live up to.
Cons: Power window motors seem to have weakened already being slow
Advice: A test drive won't do you justice, breaking it in is the fun part!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!There wasn't too much to say in those 6 miles of test driving. For me, I drove (broke down) in the Honda dealership on my way to trade my present car. I had to pull over on the beltway with my Mercury Tracer. Radiator had a hole blown out of it. Anyway, of course this seemed like a gem after driving my Merc. Tracer from '89. But you know what, go new, brand spanking new from a dealer(if you can afford it). Why, how many of you are tired of being your own warranty????
Cons: I'm afraid I will get interior (ivory colored) dirty.
Advice: EX worth the extra $ it costs compared to Civic LXGreat car, very quiet, comfortable.
Cons: Poor h.p. and torque, no traction or 4-wheel ABS, not enough cargo room.
Advice: Get the Cavalier LS or LS Sport sedan instead!I found this car has to be pushed out of its own way! I was not impressed! No traction control. No 4-wheel ABS. Not much cargo room. No h.p. or torque. And no rebate. Fortunately, the same dealership also had the 2003 Cavaliers. Even the Cavalier LS sedan beat the Civic EX sedan overall. And it came with a rebate. It came with traction. It came standard with 4-wheel ABS. I highly recommend the Cavalier instead.
Pros: The trunk is very spacious. I Love it!
Cons: The seats can be alittle better.
Advice: If you're looking for a smooth ride, big trunk, reliable car, get this one! This Car is great. I just recently bought this car about 4 weeks ago and this car is amazing. It's so smooth and slick clean. Especially when turning on the ignition, the engine sound is smooth, wait, it's smooth you could barely hear it. Especially when stopping at a traffic red light, you could not hear any sounds. The ride is real smooth. The Exterior room is spacious. This is a dream car for me. The weird thing is that i'm only 19 and using the word 'dream car' already. HaHa. Truly amazing car!!!
Pros: The comfortable seats... so soft... Not like the Jetta's rock hard ... things that they were.
Cons: Small tires.. body too high.. needs to be a little lower.
Advice: A test drive will tell.I have about 16000 miles on my car now and I love it. The looks were wierd at first when I saw the car in white but then I saw the silver and black ones and I liked them a lot. I got the silver one, of course. The engine is good for a stock 160hp car. The redline could be a little higher than about 7100 that it is now. I like the honda reliability. I had a 2002 Jetta before this car and that car just makes my Honda seem like a God. I've had no problems with this car like I did with the Jetta with only 10000 miles on it. This car handles surprisingly well and the transmission shifts are very smooth. I'd recommend at least test driving this car.
