Pros: awesome in the snow
Cons: no arm rest for the passenger
Advice: Buy one you will not be sorry. Great vehicle, we are getting anotherMy husband and I have a 2000 and have had it for a year. We live at a ski resort so we get lots of snow. It is awesome in the snow and we have not gotten stuck at all. It just plows through 1-2 feet of snow without a problem. We have studded tires so we do not have any problems on compact snow and ice roads. I feel very confident driving this vehicle in bad weather and road conditions. I just wish the passenger had a arm rest.
Pros: Lots of storage pockets
Cons: The lever for the windshield wipers is where the gear shift usually is in a car and I'm always turning the wipers on when I want to change gears.
Advice: Get one! What a fun car to drive! It's comfortable, roomy and rides very well! Has a lot of get up and go!
Pros: HP and torque are improved greatly over the previous models. 6 in dash CD. sunroof. interior space. rear seat adjustments. great gas milage
Cons: clicking noise comes from the shifter in Auto models when comming to a complete stop. rear middle headreast is in way of view. tires somewhat small for vehicle size. auto shifter takes a while to get used to.
Advice: test drive and listen for the reverse lockout solenoid that clicks when you come to a stop. it can drive you crazy if little noises bother you.superb improvement on the pick-up from the 98 model which I traded in. this is an overall great car for the price. there are a few quirks but they hardly compare to the multitude of great features. Note. This car ships with two different tires, the BF goodrich Touring which are very quiet and superior to the Duelers, which are very noisy.
Pros: rear seats that adjust and recline
Cons: nothing yet
Advice: a lot of vehicle for the moneysolid as a rock
Pros: My favorite feature would have to be the automatic transmission. I've been driving a manual transmission for much too long.
Cons: The location of the gear shifter.
Advice: Be wary of the gear shift lever while reaching for the radio.I really enjoy driving my CRV. It's a smooth ride and the sound system is great. I had been looking for an automobile that would be comfortable on long drives, and large enough to hold all the family needs. But not so large that it would be like driving a boat. I found it in the CRV. There's plenty of storage space, and room for five average size adults. On the least liked feature. The location of the gear shifter took some getting use to. On 3 occasions, while driving to work in the early morning darkness, I accidently bumped the lever when reaching for the radio. It was enough of a bump to push the lever into neutral! I'm aware of the possibility now, but still find that having to reach around the lever to select a radio station is a bit of an annoyance.
Pros: the emergency brake.
Cons: that the running boards are extra
Advice: The $2000 difference is completely worth it for purchasing the EXI got my Honda on the strength of someone's recommendation who has the 1999 CR-V. I LOVE my car. It's totally cute, easy to handle, great interior features like storage bins and lots of floor space which is great for getting my 2 year old in and out. The gear shift (automatic) is on the dashboard and the emergency brake is hidden under the radio, and makes absolute design sense.
