2003 Ford Taurus - SEL Deluxe (510A) Wagon

Pros: ENGINE!!! 200HP!! and the rear hvac ducts

Cons: NO option for sunroof :( no power pass seat available

    Advice: get the duratec package!!

The wagon has great room and features. I like the folding rear seat because you can store stuff under there and lock it. the duratech package is an absolute MUST!!! this car is fun to drive, the tires could be upgraded for much better results. it is a ghreat touring car. very smooth and quiet.

    2003 Ford Focus - ZTS (500A) Sedan

Pros: Not bad gas mileage or seating room.

    Cons: I have covered it.

Advice: Buy the Cavalier LS or LS Sport sedan instead!

I had to laugh when this site lists the Focus ZTS as having 157 h.p. when Ford's web site lists it as only having 130 h.p. So, is Ford or this site right? I say Ford. My boyfriend and I found that out when checking for a compact FWD sedan that was both powerful and fuel-economical enough without going to a high-performance compact. This one failed miserably on the power! Both traction control and 4-wheel ABS are optional for it. It includes the automatic. It is not available with a stereo with both cassette and CD. It lacks sufficient cargo room. The Ford dealer was too much into trying to pressuring us into buying it before we knew if we wanted it or not. Fortunately, through research and checking dealerships, we found what we were looking for and needing. It is the 2003 Cavalier LS sedan. We got a better rebate with it. It had the features this one did not or were optional with it. I suggest to go with the Cavalier LS or LS Sport sedan instead!

    2003 Ford Focus - Power Premium (120A) 2dr Hatchback

    Pros: size and shape

Cons: car door broke, engine locked, brakes out early

Advice: dont buy! Too many recalls and problems.

Drives nice, but made from poor quality materials. Problems arise after a year of owning.. 4 recalls since 2000, door broke, engine locked, brakes require new pads and roters (one time use only per dealership).

    2003 Ford Focus - LX (200A) Sedan

Pros: Love the appearance and is *feels* good to drive!

Cons: No inside release for the gas tank on my model.

Advice: As another reviewer said, ignore the reviews from the people who didn't buy one.

We just bought the 2003 Ford Focus LX Sedan yesterday, and absolutely love every one of the 20 miles we've put on it! If I hadn't gotten into the Focus, we never would have bought a new car, but this was THE car for us from the time we put it in drive. The appearance is fantastic - we got twilight blue metallic with medium graphite interior - it looks much like a newer Jetta, only for thousands less. We passed on most of the optional features and bought pretty close to the base model (except with automatic transmission and air conditioning) for under $12K before taxes, licensing, and financing - hard to beat for a brand-new car! The car handles so smoothly and idles so quietly you would swear the engine had died. And comfort?? How could anyone NOT find this car comfortable? I have never ridden in such a small car that had so much head and leg room (though I'll admit that the center console would be annoying with a stick and the back seat does not comfortably seat three adults). The seats just *feel* good to ride in, and would be perfect for a tall person who wants a small car. The trunk is huge for such a small car and would easily fit suitcases, groceries, or even a couple little kids (although the inside trunk release might would make that one a little difficult!). I also like the fact that the trunk release is on the driver's side dash. The mileage for the automatic is rated 27/31, but I've had such terrific luck with smaller Fords, I bet it'll do even better than that! My vote? ABSOLUTE BEST pick if you want a quiet, cute, comfortable brand-new 4-door car under $15K.

2003 Ford Focus - SE Zetec Comfort (320A) Sedan

Pros: Audio CD player, power features standard and acceleration power

Cons: Should have gotten the moonroof

Advice: GO GET IT! DON'T WAIT

I have a 2003 Focus SE Confort with Zetec. This car can really go. I am a female and I get up to 90 with any problems. The car stays stable and in control. The audio system is nice. I thought about adding an aftermarket Cd player but why should I. This one can bump. My color is nice too. I have the Light Tundra. Only seen 3 of the same so far.

    2003 Ford Focus - 2dr SVT Hatchback

    Pros: Power.

    Cons: Everything else.

Advice: I suggest the 2003 Cavalier LS Sport sedan or Neon R/T instead for a powerful enough and more fuel-economical compact. Otherwise, for more h.p., go with the 2003 Impala LS sedan.

True, it has power for a sports compact. However, due to a lack of a turbocharger, it lacks sufficient torque. Plus, I can get a 2003 Chevrolet Impala LS sedan with more h.p. and torque, cargo, leg and seating room and an automatic that gets a little better gas mileage. Otherwise, if your budget can only afford a compact, go with one like the 2003 Cavalier LS Sport sedan with plenty of power and a trunk with plenty of h.p. and more torque.

2003 Ford Focus - SE Comfort (310A) Sedan

    Pros: 6 disc player

    Cons: nothing

    Advice: get one

I hadn't really paid much attention to the Focus until a salesperson handed me the keys to a new SE model sedan. I instantly loved this compact---very comfortable, very refined, and lots of extras. The ride is excellent and it is fun to drive. Honestly I can't think of anything negative to say about the Ford Focus. The interior is well designed and has quality materials. Very little road noise. Decent power too, even with the automatic. Good job Ford.
