Getting firsthand information from an actual car owner is one sure way to get an idea of car performance once it leaves the lot. Autobytel features real consumer reviews that give the unbiased experience of a car.
Advice: Give this HIGH consideration. This is our first mini-van. Gotta tell you, this 'ain't' your fathers van. Rides like a big car, handles like a dream. This is more than we expected. The T&C is the best van for the money. No rattles or bumps, just a quiet solid ride. I can't say enough great things about this vehicle, and to top it off it's the best looking mini-van bar none!
Pros: I liked the way if drove
Cons: The contiuning belt/engine problems
Advice: Do not buy it!I purchased this car new and just trading it this week. I owned my Pacifica for about 1-1/2 years and had it to take it to the shop over 6 times. Each time was for the same reoccurring problem. The serpentine belt would always squeak and two Chrysler dealerships tried and couldn't resolve the issue. I gave up on the car and traded it for a Toyota Sienna jus this week. I would not recommend this car since both dealerships have indicated that this is a common problem with this car!
Pros: Handling and interior room (stow and go seats!!!)
Cons: Can't think of anything
Advice: Best deal on the marketWe considered a Honda Odyssey and a Toyota Sienna, but the difference in price was too great. We also considered a Dodge Grand Caravan (essentially the same as the T&C), but we got a terrific deal on the Chrysler. It seems like we find something new to like about this van every day. A great value that fully meets our current (and expected future) needs. Take a close look at this vehicle...you won't be disappointed!
Pros: Stow and GO -- Dual electric sliding doors
Cons: Rims -- nice but lots of work to clean
Advice: Don't purchase the DVD player with this model..... aftermarket recommendedOwn it and Love it. I love the Stow and Go. It is a must for all minivans, including the middle seats. Have not had any problems with the 2006.
Pros: the remote power rear hatch and side doors/DVD entertainment package
Cons: performace-needed too many things too soon
Advice: BEWARE!With 3 children and alot of shopping this is a very comfortable vehicle. However at 17,000 miles needed new front brakes, 21,000 miles wouldn't start-needed new battery, 23,000 miles rear brakes and new ignition switch replaced twice, 26,000 miles throtle plate repaired, power lift gates gets stuck open at the most inconvenient times and has begun to rust. Now at 28,000 miles the engine light has come on twice in 2weeks and the dealer is suggesting that if I pay for the fuel injectors to be cleaned and a decarbonization It 'should' correct my problem but can't guarantee it he also suggests a tune-up! I has only been 2 1/2 years and manufacter warranty hasn't expired yet!!
Pros: It is a convertible
Cons: The car's handling on wet streets makes one overly cautious.
Advice: Get a bright colorI purchased the car [new] in December '05 during a smow storm. This is a good time to buy a convertible. I have not had the top down yet, but am waiting for a good sunny warm day. The performance is great with good power [I have a blue touring model]. But you should watch it on wet roads. The car can easily get away from you. There is good room for a person like me @ 6 ft 2 and 212 lbs as the driver and the rear passengers have little difficulty getting in and riding in the back seat. I disllike not driving through the car wash, but self wash is good excersize. I dislike persons calling the car as cute. When they ride with me, I show off the power to dispel the cute label. I'd buy this car again. It's a fun car.
Pros: The overall safety of the vehicle
Cons: The doors don't open wide enough
Advice: It will hold up well in a collisionMy Pacifica was struck from behind while stopped at a stoplight, by a Honda Odyssey minivan that was moving at about 40 mph. The Honda looked like it had hit a brick wall, and I was able to drive my car home. The rear bumper took the impact remarkably well. I was also able to control the car, and did not hit the car directly in front of me. My husband and I received minor injuries, but I think it would have been much worse if we had not been in my Pacifica. I had the car towed from my home to the auto body shop, and have no idea how much it will cost to repair. At least my insurance company won't be paying for it.
