One of my best cars ever..
Pros: Turbo performance & retro appearance
Cons: CAN bus electronics intro'd in '06 (not in my '05)I've owned cars such as Oldsmobile (FWD Toronado), Mercedes-Benz (220S) and Volvo (240DL) but his little car, a GT series (with HO turbo) is one of the best, and easily the most fun, of any of them. Driver/ passenger comfort is great, it delivers good handling and gas mileage (up to 29mpg) as well as great performance - 0-60 in a little over 6 seconds and a top speed of 135 mph. Plan to keep this one a long time..
Pros: Comfort, ease of use, performance.
Cons: Styling. To be fair, that applies to all MiniVans.
Advice: 'Order' the 'Limited' model. Stock cars come loaded with videos etc. you may not need.As a rule, I usually only buy large performance oriented sedans &/or coupes, such as the Chrysler 300C & Challenger SRT that I currently own too. But I needed this MiniVan for utility purposes & purchased it for it's size & configuration & didn't really care about anything else. As a rule, I find all MiniVans to be butt ugly. HOWEVER, since purchasing this Chrysler MiniVan, I have abosolutely fallen in love with it. This vehicle is very comfortably large & offers great visibility, comfort & surprisingly very good handling & performance. Considering the type of cars I usually drive, I wasn't expecting much from a 200 hp 6 cyl engine. However, matched up with an excellent 6 speed transmission, it feels more like 265 hp. It handles the interstate at 80 mph with ease. The seats all fold completely flat into the floor leaving a tremendous cargo area. Both side & rear doors open with the touch of a button on your fob which makes loading material or children wonderfully easy. Never expected to even like this MiniVan. I love it.
Pros: Turbo, leather seats, heated seats, headroom
Cons: Turning ratio was VERY BAD, for a small car it requires a huge circle to turn around , trade in value was TERRIBLE, they depreciate badly! If you really want one, buy a gently used model, because the depreciation will KILL YOU!
Advice: Check out the new Subaru Forester, it's about the same price but it feels much larger inside and is all wheel driveI bought a 2005 PT Cruiser TURBO new back in 2005 and just traded it in for a Subaru Forester. I think the PT Cruiser was a very comfortable driving car with plenty of get up and go. I NEVER once had it in the shop so it had a GREAT reliability record. My only complaint was that the turning ratio was VERY bad, for a small car you need a football field to turn it around in. The other problem I had was with the fit and finish, one day while driing down the road the passenger visor just fell off onto the floor. The passenger seat is supposed to fold down flat to form a desk but it really never folded flat and had so much of an angle that your paperwork slides off. All in all it was not an expensive car to drive or own and the get up and go of the TURBO is really good. Didn't feel stable at speeds over 85 MPG, the steering wheel would shake and the car felt like it wasn't in good contact with the road at very high speeds.
Pros: The leather and heated seats
Advice: great cargreat car
Pros: retro styling
Cons: rear power window switches on floor console
Advice: great car don't hesitatemine has over 34,000 miles on it and other than oil changes i've had no issues with car. still original brakes and tires.great car
Pros: 6 leather bucket seats / satellite radio
Advice: invest in the leather seating, navigation system, satellite radio, and DVD player, you will be happy you did, it's well worth the moneyI brought my 2005 Pacifica new in June 05. It has 33,000 miles and we haven't had any problems. It's a well built car that handles great. We got ours with just about every option minus the sunroof and AWD. It's a great car to go on road trips with. The kids don't fight anymore thanks to the DVD player. The passengers can watch movies from the rear 4 seats or you can plug up a Playstation to it and The Infinity sound system sounds like a theater. The leather seats, navigation system, sound system, and the rest of the options make this an awsome car. I'm glad we didn't buy something else.We also got the tow package and tow our pop up camper down the highway and you can't even tell it's back there. It has plenty of power and it's pretty quick. I don't know what it's governed at, but I've had it up to 120 and it was smooth. It handles really good in all types of weather. This is definately a good car for the money.
Pros: too many favorites
Cons: controls do not illuminate, I can not see to use them at night
Advice: Take a night time test driveI have only had my T & C Limited for two weeks and have had no problems so far. I love the way it handles, the way it drives is great, and it is very comfortable. However, I wish I had test drove it at night. The radio/nav system, crusie control, heated seat buttons, hazzard button, rear window wiper controls, and climate controls do NOT illuminate. I was not told this before the purchase. It is a pain trying to use any of these controls at night. Check out this car at night before buying it.
