Pros: The inside instrument cluster.. nicely laid out
Cons: narrow wheelbase
Advice: Definitely think about buying oneWhen I test drove this vehicle, I loved it. It's so smooth and you can't even feel yourself going over a bump or pothole. It handles well in bad weather also.
Pros: Turning radius
Cons: power steering over assisted
Advice: If you plan to tow look at higher axle ratiosGood power with 4.10 rear axle. Power steering overassisted. In an SUV in this price range should be speed variable assist. Center console not as usable as old style. If you plug in a cell phone you can't use one can holder. If you want to put the transmission in first you can't use another. Ride is much improved and road noise is minimal. Turning radius is great.
Pros: ride and drive quality
Cons: very poor gas mileage and too small fuel tank
Advice: don't believe the gas mileage ratings ther not even closefuel mileage is very bad, have complained to dealer, they are reviewing-I'm getting 10.5gpm city and 15.9highway--driving it very gentlely. The rating is 15gpm city and 21gpm highway, I thought I would get at least 14gpm city and 19 to 20 highway. Also rear seat enty and exit is very narrow compared to some others. The vehicle drives and rides great and runs very well, acouple friends with Jeep grand cherokees with 6cyl. are getting 19 to 20 gpm highway, might have been the way to go.
Pros: It does drive well on the highway
Cons: Has alot of wind noise when driving
Advice: If you buy one have the dealership run the VIN number to check for factory recalls.I purchased a 'new' trail blazer LTZ from GM and have had many problems with it. A recall on the engine that I was not notified of. The recall: as told to me by a GM Rep. was that the car 'may not lock in park' and we at GM feel this is not a problem? In the last three months of owning it it has been at a chevy dealership for 16 of those days for many problems..The drivers door was not set into the frame, drivers window would not roll up when driving, the front bumper on all of the trailblazers is loose, the side door leaks and all the seals in the car are falling off. I feel GM has not produced a vehicle that I as a customer am happy with.
Cons: narrow wheelbase
Advice: get the 4 wheel driveGreat suv. No real problems. Runs great. If I had to do over I would have bought the 4 wheel drive.
Pros: inside space
Cons: there's nothing not to like
Advice: don't go into analysis paralysis, just buy the thing...one doesn't need side air curtains and a bunch of feel good safety equipment when one drives 3 tons worth of truck....
Pros: 4x4 on the fly!
Cons: Lack of remote hatch release
Advice: Strongly consider LS loaded over the LT. Same engine and ride but lower price tag. After owning a 99 blazer, I feel as if I took a giant leap up in the Trailblazer. I considered the LTZ, but after reviewing the options and comps., I found the loaded LS is the best buy for the money. Suspension and engine are standard on all models so the upgrades are really just personal preference options. I found that what you get in the LT and LTZ as options are over-priced in comparison to other SUV's. (Personal opinion) It has a great feel and ride and plenty of room inside. I have the loaded LS and added running boards. I am completely satisfied. The ride is incomparable to other SUV’s I have driven. It even rides better then some cars I’ve been in. A great SUV!!
