2004 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 - AWD Extended Cab 6.5' Box

Pros: I love the comfort and the way it handles for a pick up.

Cons: The mirrors on the sun visor are cheap, and the rear seats are not leather

Advice: Be sure to get the loaded version to enjoy all the features for the money, its worth it!!

The truck handles very well, and the acceleration of the truck is great. I was curious as to how well the all wheel drive would work, but I actually thought it was great in the snow.

    2004 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 - LS 4x2 Regular Cab 6.5' Box

Pros: It is not as high as most full size trucks and I do like the styling

Cons: The far too many automatic 'features' that do not permit driver control, for example the automatic lighting system and the oil change warning which must be turned off by the dealer

Advice: Rent one for a month before you buy, if you can live with the gimmicks and gadgets, fine

An apparently well built vehicle. However it is rather large and ungainly to drive. Basically a gas guzzler with a lot of gimmicks and gizmos. Who needs running lights, an outside temperature, compass, air bag indicating mirror? At least there should be an option to disable the running lights. I found extra cap screws that someone had disposed of in the fuse box. Icing on the cake was for the battery to fail and leave the vehicle dead after I had driven it for six miles. GM towed it back to the dealer and replaced the battery at no cost and the dealer even sent someone to pick me up to retrieve the truck. Must now return the vehicle for service because it will not idle at less than 1000rpm. Would I recommend or buy again? No, this is not the truck for me!

    2004 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 - LT 4x2 Extended Cab 6.5' Box

    Pros: Adjustable seats--commmmfort.

    Cons: Gas mileage

Advice: Shop the internet -- get the best deal and THEN negotiate.

I have test driven almost every truck made before making my decision. This is definitely the best truck overall compared to the others. I got a 2WD with traction assist and locking diff... Hope it will handle the snow this winter. If not, I'll try snow tires. So far, It is a total joy to drive-- comfort, sound system, quiet, handling, power, the best adjustable pwr. seats out there. The best thing about buying the LT model is that it comes loaded with almost everything as standard equipment. Try one and compare. Good Luck all...

2003 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 - LS 4x2 Extended Cab Short Box

Pros: looks, comfort, quality, performance, overall functionality.

Cons: less than great mileage with any of the engine options...hurry up with the hybrids already!

Advice: Best truck you can buy as far as I can tell.

Test drove one today. Absolutely awesome ride and comfort. I hear complaints in some reviews, but the car I'm trading in is such a junker, this new silverado feels like a magic carpet ride to me. Will probably buy it, would buy the Avalanche instead perhaps if I had a little more money...

2002 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 - LS 4x2 Extended Cab Short Box

    Pros: 5.3 V8 engine

    Cons: passanger leg room

Advice: the silverado is comftorable and I have had no problems with my 27140 miles

I love my silverado extended cab it is comfortable. The only problem is the passanger side has the center console extending too far into the passangers leg room The cab has a lot of storage room and it is easy to store luggage. My grandfather drives a 2001 Ford F-150 extended cab and says my Silverado extended cab rides smoother and the back seat has 'a lot more leg room'.
