Pros: Powerful V-8
Cons: Nothing I didn't like
Advice: Styling, roominess, comfort and perfromance. It's got it all!Awewsome truck! I test drove the new Fords and new Dodges, but the Chevrolet had what I wanted in a truck. The 5.3 liter V-8 outperformed the 5.9 liter from Dodge and the 5.4 liter from Ford in every category. This also has to be the most comfortable and spacious truck I've ever owned. The egronomics are great. I have a family of 5 and everyone agrees that it's the best. I highly encourgage you test drive a new Chevrolet before making your final decision.
Cons: Wanted LT console and couldn't get it
Advice: Opt for the 5300Rides beautifully... doubt I will ever go back to a car
Pros: Engine performance.
Cons: Color choices are few and not very exciting.
Advice: Take a ride. Look at the undercarriage engineering.I have 42,588 miles on a 2000 LS Extended Cab 4x4 and it has performed flawlessly. The power is tremendous. I have two friends (1 with a Ford; the other with Dodge) with comparable engines and the Silverado can accelerate pass them 'at will' and gets better true calculated fuel mileage. The truck rides wonderful and steers with precision. The only flaw is a small squeak in dash and I have been able to find it and correct it.
Cons: question of reliability over the long haul
Advice: buy from a good dealershipThe Silverado truck is a quiet, good handling, fairly economical on highways, truck
Pros: The Performance of the Motor.
Cons: The Top Speed Limitor.
Advice: Buy it, Get 4x4 and you can pick either motor we own both and they tow great.I love my Chevy Silverado. The performance on it is great. I am very happy I bought it. I considered every type of truck out there. I came back to the chevy because it was so nice. The only thing i dont like about it is the Top speed Limitor at 97mph but i fixed that with a HyperTech Power Programmer.
Pros: Power, comfortable and roomy.
Cons: Cup holders too low on the bench seat
Advice: Buy it, its a great truck!!L love my truck. On long trips its very comfortable and roomy. Have the 5.3 V8 and its very quick and responsive. I had a mid-size truck previously and I like the added power and roominess. I currently have 4K miles and have taken one 2k trip and so far have not experienced any issues. Mine was made in Canada. I have experienced no issues that I have read in the other reviews.
Pros: Front seating area and comfort.
Cons: Less than adequate rear area seating and comfort. No rear cup holders.
Advice: Think twice! I'm ashamed to have to say that my vehicle is a good example of a poorly built American truck.BUILT AND RIDES LIKE A ROCK. No one is able to fix the constant undercarriage rattling sound and front end shimmy problems. I've had far too many problems with my vehicle. With just at 60K mileage, I've had to replace the battery twice, battery terminals & cables, brake booster, alternator and water pump. Even after replacing the alternator and assicated cables, I continue to have electrical problems. I'm very unhappy and disappointed with Chevrolet and the dealership I purchased it from. I expected a better built vehicle. It'll be a long time before I consider purchasing another American made truck. I should have kept my Extended Cab Nissan P/U or purchased a Toyota P/U.
